I admire people who can make cars a reservoir of wealth. Sadly I live in another world entirely.

Having said that Graham is a cool dude, he gave me a PAX lap at Spa in his M400 - he can drive for sure.

Well I went to have a look at the car on Thursday.

Firstly rocco/Tony is a lovely guy, seriously into his cars, but he admits not that knowledgeable about TVRs.

We spent longer just talking about cars than I did looking around the sagaris!

The car itself has a full and extensive history, a mountain of receipts of every little thing plus the big one for the upgrade/rebuild at str8six.

Generally it's in pretty good condition, not perfect but not bad at all.

72k's worth? Well that's entirely in the eye of the beholder/buyer!

It's the first I've looked at, so not leaping in, but thus far but it's definitely getting some consideration.

Won't be too surprised if someone snaps it up in the meantime whilst I dither... But so be it! It's a big purchase for me and not something to do on impulse.

Don't think you can take a RHD car to either.

Not quite, but you can't register any rhd car newer than 30 (I think) years old and even then on classic plates which provides certain limitations. We have several uae phers with tvrs in storage in the uk

Hi All!

Interesting to see some of these discussions again as its been a while since I've popped in here. I won't tell you how awful I think the S6 engine in standard form... Oh why not as it is the second one I've cooked. before wise comments about operator error I'll state neither were diagnosed as such and my other cars haven't had engine failures.

This car was great but the engine was the only problem which let go big style on Monza, seized small end pin, worn out oil pump source of low pressure, worn cams, cracks in the crank woodruff key, scores on liners, various other things were going pear shaped at 18k so I spent a fortune with Jason to get an all new 4.3 with some other bits and HC pistons. One of the best mechanically I'd say but cosmetically maybe needed a couple of little things sorted.

don't quote me but I think I was owner 4 after maxwaxx and sibo99 then there was another before that and finally rocco1.

The Sag was great character and so much car for the money so anyone considering it don't be afraid of this one, I spent days fixing trim/rattles/fibreglass smells and all the tips from Graham Varley etc to get this car user friendly.

Thanks Ukkid, I'm back to the Nurburgring next month for the first time in 4 years with my McLaren 675LT, target is 7:30 full lap smile now that's a car that can scare people, TVR was a pussy cat compared to what this thing can do, wink

Next month in June, not DN15 in July? That's a shame, I would have loved another PAX ride with you, and I've never even sat in a McLaren...

As this thread has been resurrected, I decided to abandon my search for a Sag'... after much soul searching I just couldn't justify a £50k premium over what my Tuscan is worth for a Sagaris..

(ignoring the 4.3 upgrade on this one) it's the same power train
Same gearbox
same pedal box
similar crazy noises
Exclusivity, doesnt really bother me, and a Tuscan isn't exactly a common car
Looks, both are cracking looking cars.
"Modern" interior on the sag.. well it's not really, still very basic compared to other cars you can get for 70k.
better handling.. yes, absolutely, but I can still just about cope with the Tuscan naughty characteristics, just need to have my wits about me.

So I'm keeping the Tuscan, and getting a V8 Vantage instead, and will have enough dough left over for a complete re-trim (and even re-spray) of the tuscan if the mood takes me, however it's got a few chips and nicks now, and I dont cry when it gets a new one so I may just leave it that way, it polishes up nice enough.

So I've got something a little more suitable for longer journeys, and now have a Jag, TVR and soon an Aston on the drive way. Best of British and all that. Just need a lotus now..... and a noble, and caterham, etc.. etc..

What did you have done?

Did you change the suspension? What did you go for?

Maybe you could add the car to your Garage on your profile and add some detail?

Oh, right. Sorry. It sounded like you had had some major upgrades or something.

Just seen this on another thread.

" Just had more excellent service from Mat as always. Can't speak highly enough of him.

12k service, tappets, MoT and AC Condensor replacement all done very quicky and efficently

Great to see my Sag parked next to B055SAG as well - Reflex Charcoal next to Chameleon Orange, looked madness smile hopefully Mat will post some pics on his Website"

More reasons to use certain TVR specialists to look after these cars, no DIY mechanic cannot match their knowledge or experience!!!
