Hi...

Looking at getting the ACT Exhaust system with my Racing Green end cans....

I'm decatted.... Anyone been down this route before and did your ears bleed as a result?

Steve

I had exactly that fitted to mine, the ACT has two mid cherry bombs with all of the silencing being done in the end cans.
Once you remove the end cans and fit the Racing green pipes you effectively end up with a straight through exhaust .... it was extremely loud!

I drove it around for a couple of days and decided against it.
I did at one point look into possibly having a couple of pre silencers made to allow the use of the RG pipes but its really restrictive under the rear there and for one reason or another I left alone.

I think Clive Ford was doing some after market rear boxes that may help with sound.
I have an old Genuine back box if you want to experiment.

So loud it made me laugh!
I got it home after having it fitted and Mrs Darren refused to ride in it, my neighbours asked if I was testing jet engines in the garage .... That was their polite way of saying enough is enough!

Giggle factor 10/10, practicality 4/10

I don't have a Sag but I have Racing Green cans on the Tam with decats. 120 miles back from Brighton today and I am still a bit deaf!. They sound awesome but on a long motorway run you need earplugs or it will get tiresome.

Hahaha you can imagine my thoughts on this D... TVR should = Loud (while sounding fantastic), middle finger up to all Porkers, lambos and Fezzes, unapologetic then I got hit with common sense... if I want to see a track day I need to be a little quieter so its 2 Decibel Devils on order for me wink

Love what you did on the Cerb originally and after my minor tweak I'm on cloud 9

Andy, I've now started with earplugs, just too much with the above combo, plus I've now got Sag centre sections, so 1/4" bigger bore and minus the small cherry bombs, like has been said good fun, but almost painful when accelerating hard on road lined with buildings/trees etc

Decatted mine (4.3) - crazy before - and now it is just ridiculous - but that is the way it should be.

The shriek on the acceleration - and the cracks on the overrun are awesome.

Comment as I idled round the supermarket "sounds like a grumbly tank" - or a "spitfire on throttle" when I came in slowing up

Other drivers hear you come up behind them.

Is it antisocial - yes - but just get a good set of earplugs for the longer trips.
