Orange sagaris targa for sale
Discussion
Is that the Tuscan convert. That does look amazing in the pics! Difficult to know it's worth, but certainly looks very well done. I guess you've just got to price it up on what it's worth to you, but certainly a unique car. If I had that sort of money "spare" I'd be very tempted to have a look.
I have only heard great things about this particular car! clearly lots of money spent.. Its one of those things, if the Cat D does not put you off (I hear it was only fibre glass damage) then its a great car to keep.. Im surprised no one has bought it overseas as that's where they tend to do...
I wish the Sagaris had come with a removable roof, as I would of paid a premium for that..

Its a great looking car, I'm surprised it didn't sell when it first went up for sale.

You are correct in quoting the advert, however the Car passed a VIC test back in March 2014 and therefore caries no category attached to the damage.I wish the Sagaris had come with a removable roof, as I would of paid a premium for that..
This is evident when you run a check with HPI or similar companies, my fault entirely, the add has now been corrected.

I wasn't aware you could remove record of the damage entirely from the register. This is evident when you run a check with HPI or similar companies, my fault entirely, the add has now been corrected.

A VIC test is just a VOSA check of the identity, nothing to do with the damage.
An autolign test can inspect and remove the category but will say "Condition Inspected"
Not that it detracts from the car in any way shape or form, its an absolute peach!

Sorry, me again. Im not explaining myself very well.A VIC test is just a VOSA check of the identity, nothing to do with the damage.

The car has actually passed an Autolign check and therefore is no longer registered with a category.
Once the check is carried out you receive a letter from HPI to say"vehicle registration mark has been removed from our active condition alert register" thus it no longer has a category attached to it.
Now, having purchased the HPI status for this vehicle the report reads as follows:
Vehicle Identity Check
This vehicle has had a Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) completed by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). The result was: Pass
This information will also appear on the V5C/logbook for the vehicle:
Substantially repaired and/or accident damaged: Identity checked on 10/03/2014
We have no write-off category for this vehicle. This may be because we are still waiting for notification of the damage classification from an insurance company, or this vehicle may have been self-insured. Please contact VOSA on 0300 123 9000 for more information.
The Vehicle condition on the report reads as follows:
Vehicle condition
Condition alert VRM and VIN not recorded by insurers as a 'total loss'
Condition inspected VRM and VIN not recorded as a repaired insurance 'total loss'
The stigma that seems to arise from a TVR being categorised is fuelled by the speculation that the car was involved in some dreadful accident. That may be the case, but you could also have your car written off if some mindless vandal was to run over the top of it and damage the fibreglass. A few years back when TVR no longer existed, values were low and genuine panels were not readily available insurance companies categorised these cars for cost effectiveness.
My advise to any purchaser looking at a cat car would be to have it inspected. As for my personal car, the accident damage was light fibreglass with no chassis damage. Since the rebuild I'd put it against any TVR out there. I think by reading some of the comments attached to the car you can draw your own conclusions as for its condition.

This car is a peach! I saw it at Jason's a while ago, when it had just been finished. Darren's Cerb before it was also immaculate. This guy knows how to buy and build immaculate TVRs.
I wish I had the money right now to buy it. Beats any Sag for me all day long!
This Tus/Sag is fantastic? I can only give my opinion based on Darren and how he keeps his cars (his Cerb which I now own was very well looked after).I wish I had the money right now to buy it. Beats any Sag for me all day long!
Whoever gets this will have done very well.
