My old man has a big lazy wedge 400se.... He didnt like my S6 in my Tuscan. Its definitely down to personal opinion as I prefer the S6 to his V8.... He hasn't driven my new one yet however I may convert him.

It was handy having all that torque in the V8 Cerb on track but yes, the S6 needs to be revved a lot more to properly get it going.

What a sound though as it screams all the way to the top end ! I love the S6 engine and one of the main reasons why I let the Cerb go.

It is also that lovely low down torque of the V8's that can get you into trouble from time to time when pressing on around the twisties - I love the predictability of my Tam...

SP6 4.5 is a lot more torquey in the lower range

As is the 4.3. But crucially, they are mated to T-car underpinnings, not the old V8 carts! hehe

Thanks all, you're helping a lot. What're they like at lower speeds around town/traffic? I find that with the v8 you have to be very engaged somehow.

They're not too bad for shunting or biting. Just watch the temps and make sure the fans are cutting in. The AP clutch can be sort lived if you're regularly running through the gears (don't sit on the clutch when paused). Cold running is a bit clattery and uneven, make sure the oil's fully up to temp before gunning it. Once it is warm though, it screams like a banshee all the way to the top.

Should be smooth and lovely around town, nice and docile like a snoozing pussy cat completely disguising the sabre toothed tiger lurking deep within. Have to admit I found the Cerbera easier to drive around town, the Sagaris feels scarily wide and low. But they are no V8 in the sense you can just forget the gearbox and drive around in 3rd all day

I'm sometimes in town with Tamora. Both we do not like it too much. Traffic light jumping is a pain in the ... Espacially if she hasn't warmed up yet. I've got always her clutch in mind in stop and go traffic. When warm smooth cruising in 3rd with 2.000 rpm is possible (4.0 litres - don't know about 3.6).

Regardless of what combo of engine/diff/gearbox you have, the 3.6 S6 is a bit limp under 3.5-4k revs. Rev the tits off it (when its warmed up of course) and its a different story.

Got back from Drive Espania on Sunday. 2000-miles(ish) in 10-days in Spain. Did most of the road overtaking in 5th so there is some oomph there. There's just a step change in the performance when the revs rise to 4-5k.

Trackday there showed this perfectly. 2/3rd gear hairpin the RV8s (all 500s) would just stick with 3rd and pull out of the corner so much better (same against the 4.5 S6 that was there too). If I could squeeze in a change to 2nd then I was all over them on the exit.

I describe the 3.6 as dog constantly pulling on a lead to get somewhere.

It looks academic for me right now anyway as the seller has told the grarage that he's changed his mind and is keeping the car frown

Then go and have a look at the green one in TVR Mads - I've no connection - It has been for sale for ages and I think people assume its a poor one. Its not. The one person who posted up that they went to see it said it was immaculate and it was the green colour that put them off - didn't like the combo.

I like it a lot but bought Tamy the day it was listed!

Yeh, not sure about the colour either on that one. The interior especially as it looks almost yellow, although I'm sure it's better in the flesh. I do like this one but am not sure about the extreme low mileage on a S6:

As said before the 3.6 needs a bit of revs but keep it in the rev range and it flys. 4.3 light weight fly wheel is a good upgrade for torque. The go fast pedal has a huge amount of travel. When I test drove my standard Tuscan 4.0 I was disappointed and was then told I was only using 1/3 of the pedal travel

Now got a 4.3 oh sooooooo much fun

Sounds interesting, although an 06 could prove expensive... wink

I would be phoning that garage to find out more about the previous owner and why so low mileage. Not many one owner cars come up so could be a good find.

Hi Lee - It's a pretty car and definitely magnolia interior and not yellow ;-)
I tried taking a photo indoors, but that just makes the interior look dull. I think I need a new better camera.

Can vouch for kingy220's car too, having owned it twice! http://www.tvr-mads.co.uk/YJ06UUA.html
And I was offered the low mileage silver car three ish years ago, but we couldn't agree on a price.
