Thenyou may not have any idea about passion for cars? We're all different don't forget.
I think I may have a reasonable idea about passion for cars, having owned 130+ of them and not a single fast ford unless you include a mk2 Lotus Cortina. 60k+ for any fast ford - just not for me.
Like you said, we're all different and like I suggested, it's my opinion, don't need to be the same as every one else, something I'm sure you understand with your eclectic collection.

I've had cars I could afford and cars I couldn't.
Have I had crap cars?
Everyone's different but given the opportunity to own 15-20% of the cars we've owned for a second time around, we'd probably decline LOL
Some cars I'd love to own second time around but wouldn't pay what folk are asking, but I think I'm happy with what we have now or are awaiting delivery of
10 Cars I wished I'd kept?
1965 Griffith 400
1972 Clan Crusader
1978 TVR 3000S Turbo
1987 390SE
1988 Integrale
1987 Testarossa
1990 BMW M3 EVO (2.5)
1988 911 Turbo
2003 996 Turbo
2005 Sagaris

I see this beauty has now come up for sale. Not surprised at the price - the Sag has truly become a modern classic and its desirability/relative scarcity will surely drive prices higher. Only 3 for sale right now? Owners hanging on to see what they're worth after the new car is revealed no doubt . . .

+1 for this if it's still available. I've already mentioned it to someone else looking and no doubt others have too. It looked great condition and Woody spoke highly of it (and mentioned it was unmodified too). As I understand it's not been advertised as the owner was considering whether to sell. Give Woody a call... If you like the colour I doubt you'd be wasting your time.
[edit] I think it's the one in this FB post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=...
Yes, that's the one. Great looking car and a nice plate. I was told it was a bit special - not sure why in particular.[edit] I think it's the one in this FB post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=...

I wonder what a very nice genuine original Sag would sell for, pound notes?
Not anything other than mint as it left the factory??
Emphasis on very nice genuine original, not blown and bling... Guess it would be a big number?
John , Do you think a car with the original crappy PAS bracket, or plastic washer bottle, or nasty door strikers or non ceramic coated manifolds is worth more than one that has been improved? Not anything other than mint as it left the factory??

PS Good job I kept the rusty originals .. I must re-install them before I sell
I've got lots of original rusty nuts and bolts rather than stainless that I'll refit too.

Pushing £80k, no doubt. The thing is they are no longer 'just used cars'. Sagarais's are now very 'collectible' and a collector will always pay a premium for originality, regardless of whether original standards have been bettered by today's. This in turn will help pull up the values of original examples of other TVRs, with scarcity being the other major factor. We can debate the merits of this but we can't deny market forces. Frankly, if I owned any TVR I'd be pretty happy right now.

I agree you, I think £80-85 as the cars that come into that category are rare.TVRMs said:

Kieth,
What you were describing is what I called (tongue in cheek) blown and bling
I'm not suggesting that what you have done has not improved your car and I have no doubt that it will be sought after by the majority of potential purchasers, it will however be looked at by a real collector as something that needs to be "put right"

So is a car WITHOUT an engine rebuild worth more than one with a rebuild ? should I stay with an original half time bearing rather than an improved one ? Mine has still got its original tyres (probably not a good idea since they're 10 years old)

If your car needed a rebuild then you did the right thing, if you wanted to bling your car up, with a 4.3 or a 4.5 you probably made it more attractive to the normal punter. Is rebuilding a car engine when it's not required a sensible thing to do - guess it depends on the owner, but he will be less well off as a result as the car will not be now worth more than the sum of the parts...
If it had a standard rebuild that would be more of a plus point to a collector.
I've deliberately avoided assuring your question as I don't need an online argument with some that clearly has a different opinion. Don't you have breakfast to cook or cars to polish

Sounds like mine except the originals are not rusty after 32K miles. Oh my engine is original, powerful and very sweet according to the experts.
