Hi guys!

Finally got my Sag back with all the little niggles sorted, the carbon canister on the fuel tank decided to break on my fourth day of ownership, but never mind! Loving life right now.
Today I went out on a long drive 320ish miles all through the country side In convoy with an Elise.... He had the sat nav so was following most of the way. Not because he was quicker wink

The Day obviously had to be finished off with a nice soapy bath for the sag.... Well I knew it would get chips, and I know the colour shows the chips but my god eek

I need to get the front wrapped urgently. I'm thinking a thick black wrap just on the front horseshoe and winglets. It needs some protection ASAP. Has anyone done this and can you recommend me someone decent please.

Here's a pic ??

Firstly put a cheap wrap on there for the rest of the summer.

Then in the winter get the chips treated, and a decent film on the from when the paint has properly cured....

That's a good idea to be honest... Do you have any recommendations please?

I would use an Avery gloss black film on there. Supreme cast would be the way to go for the small front end.

Definitely recommend give Totally Dynamic in north London a call, they are without doubt the best in the business and Scott will do you a very fair deal. I don't have an interest in this however I owned a Totally Dynamic wrapping centre a few years back and they are top. PM me if you want more info

I've got Paintshield on the front of the Sag I am currently selling. Normally I don't like the stuff, but this has and continues to work really well (fitted Nov 07 at 11500 miles; car now on nearly 23000 miles). It's a full front end to the windscreen including the cut outs and vents. It cost £1000 plus the VAT back then.

Did those chips happen from one drive out? If so then don't follow so closely. I found my T350 picks up many less chips now I drop back a bit and only come close to slower cars when actually overtaking. Of course one gritting lorry and you're toast frown

I would speak to T4NGO on here and talk to him about a clear Plastidip. Cheap, removable and not obvious like the wraps are. Great at protecting against stones as it is a clear rubber coating...

His website is MattPack if you want to take a look.

I'm planning on having my Cerb done (if Alan ever gets back to me - hint hint! wink )

Yes one drive out... I was following but I was keeping a long distance back! Just crazy how easily they chip I'm worried the paint seal/laquer isn't up to standard

Doesn't sound right to me. Yes you do get an odd chip but certainly not every journey. What was it like before you set off?

I have hundreds of stone chips on the front of mine, probably due to how I drive it whistle but the worst was after I followed a former Tuscan owner in his RS4 on a hoon, I would have been gutted if I had had a flip paint, looked like I had been machine gunned. I have hummed and harred regarding a respray but it would definitely have to have some sort of protection if I did.

Maybe its the colour, but definitely looks like a soft top coat to me. That is far worse than when I had my front end repainted a couple of years ago!

Just taken this one of mine, a couple of chips but nothing compared with yours:

Who the fkkkk puts a soft top coat on! I'm not a happy man right now! Decided not to take it out this evening! Not good. I'm getting the front double layer wrapped in gloss black up to the second bonnet slit and then run it down in front of the front wheels...

I'd say those stone chips are excessive, given I put about 12k on my Sag in 5 years I didn't see anywhere near that level of stone chips.

So everyone is in agreement that the level of stone chips is excessive... Can anyone suggest a course of action - I've only had the car in my person for 7 days now, it had a full respray late last year. Thanks guys always a great help

Paintshield was applied to my Sag in 2009. The nose, mirrors, winglets, lower doors and wings, and some of the rear. Has done an excellent job at keeping the stones away. Still looks in very good condition compared with the Armourfend that was on my Cerbera. Those stone chips look excessive to me, the front of mine has never been resprayed and there a few chips to be seen under the paintshield, so the car was 4 years without it
