So everyone is in agreement that the level of stone chips is excessive... Can anyone suggest a course of action - I've only had the car in my person for 7 days now, it had a full respray late last year. Thanks guys always a great help
Most good paint shops give a guarantee so I’d find out who did it and contact them in the first instance.

BTW, what was your petrol smell problem in the end?

Front end respray?

Any idea how comprehensive the full respray last year?

I had the T350 resprayed (it's black, so stone chips are very noticable) 12 months ago and I made sure stated that it should be heavily resistant to stone chips - not sure if they did much difference but it "seems" thicker than the previous paint (hard to put into words what "seems" means - maybe it sounds different when knocked or maybe a thicker top coat)..

I allowed them weeks to do the work (and the car sat for most of last year on SORN) - so maybe the painted cured / dried harder before it got any road, cleaning, etc.

Do recommend leaving a gap between yourself and the car infront too smile

I left a huge gap the whole journey for exactly this reason.

I'm getting the paint and top coat measured this week. To see how thin the pain is.

I will speak to the old owner about the warranty they gave. The Petrol smell was caused by a Broken carbon canister and then it was also made worse by a hose not attached properly when it was put back together after said re-spray.

Don't rely on paint shop warranties biggrin

If not protected, get something on it. I know some people just say it ruins the paint and
just respray it once every few years, but that is a costly exercise.

Mayby dipping will help. Get a Bottle of clear platidip and try IT. Costs less than 15gbp...

Too much paint on the car or not spent long enough in the oven. Get it back to the people that painted it.

It does need driving - but I'm not at the minute, scared to do more damage and think I always will be now. It's definitely not right as everyone has said here, even the tiniest of grains has caused pin point chips it's a joke.

That is absolutely not right, the lacquer must be way too soft or something. Sorry not read all the thread but if resprayed recently and/or you bought it from a dealer I was contact them straight away and ask them to address your concerns..... Hopefully they will sort it without quibble!

Don't know if this advice is helpful; and perhaps speak to the supplying dealer first. But as it's now badly chipped already, it now needs full preparation and painting to put right. So you may as well drive it and get more chips in the interim? Hopefully the fun you'll have will help offset the paint pain.

I have paint shield on the Tam, it was not cheap but has proved effective. Who re-sprayed the car?

How much did the paint sheild cost on the Tamora as I've just had a full respray done on mine and was thinking of getting this done to mine to save the new paint

I will check tomorrow. I had the nose piece & the side sills done, it was about £700 I think in 2013

Good news, thought any decent paint shop would be happy to correct.

Hope you can now start to enjoy the car as you haven't had the best start to Sagaris ownership!
