So it's the summer again (for two weeks it seems!), and thoughts return to cooling.

I know Alex has gone an interesting way with side vents, but has anyone looked at directing air out of the bonnet a little better?

I was wondering about c/f 'towers' raised over the top of the fans, narrowing and flattening at the top to properly direct air out of the vents. The reason I'm thinking this is the air seems quite 'confused' out of the fans, and doesn't automatically flow out of the vents.

Downsides - might make the engine (even) hotter? Or would it help by removing hot air from the mix, thus allowing a cooler air flow. Anyone?

I'm thinking about getting the exhaust heat wrapped in the winter to help. TVR101 also have suggested a way of getting better aircon....

Thoughts?

Get the manifolds and CATs ceramic coated rather than wrapped.

I fitted the main sag 90 degree vents to my 4.2 T350, which helped but was even better after I found a lot of gaps around the rad allowing air past without cooling

... so filled gaps with simple foam pieces (pipe wrap) and as out of sight was no issue. Appreciate this only helps when travelling. My temps reduced by 4C even when not on track, eg steady at 70mph.
