What is the best way to stop an oil leak from the base of the tube?

Perhaps there's an olive missing or something like that?

Furnox LSX, you get it from a plumbers merchant should do the job.

I believe it holds up to oil but you will have to get the area really clean so it can bond to the metal.

I have now fitted a new 1/2" brass olive. I will report back to confirm whether the long standing oil leak has been fixed.

PS I used engine assembly lube to hold the olive in place when refitting, you'll understand why when you try it
