That would be interesting. The engine is actually the best S6's I'm come across, so whoever it was did a great job!

The intials on the side of the waterpump don't relate to the engine builder they relate to the person who fitted the aux components (manifolds, throttle bodies, igintion coil etc).

That makes sense. always wondered why they initials were on the water pump. Was the engine number pre-allocated ? like the build number.

oh dear, guess we've just been lucky with our 6 S6 cars, including the Sag that did 12/13000 faultless track miles before being sold because I got bored with it.

Yes "luck".. Dicey quality control means sometimes you'll get lucky, sometimes you won't.

If you read that post I linked to the original valve seat dropped out second time round... Yes original. If you think the factory was full of engine building gurus your in cloud cuckoo land.
fk me I nearly brought your lovely looking car, there was no mention at the time from the selling dealer that it had done 13000 miles on a track....

Slightly off-topic but amazing how many Tuscan Mk2/3's there are for sale at the mo' given the similar build volumes to the Sag. Perversely very few Mk1's up as well.

Yep, market forces are not logical. The late Tuscans for sale over £40K just don't seem to sell, whereas you won't get a Sagaris in any condition for less than ~£60K. Bet if the Tuscans were priced in the £30K's they'd sell though.

I agree there is more mystique for the Sag but I don't think I've ever seen more than one or two Mk2/3 Tuscans on the market at any one time in my 3 years of ownership of my Mk1 which is why I thought the current glut was slightly odd. I guess they appear not to be selling (quickly) as there are relatively a lot available at the mo. Market forces as always.

Take a chill pill Tovie, the car you came close to buying was our third Sag. It was the first one we had the fun in, the third one had never seen a track (or many roads come to that). It had only done 2900 miles.

My 4.2 (quite like a 4.3..) has now done another 35k miles on STR8SIX engine, a fair few on track.

Always carefully warmed up, annual fettling of settings etc but no engine work since install. New TVR on order but this one's staying. smile
