Hi,

Tyres on the Sag now need changing, can't put it off any longer, so I'm just considering tyre sizes.
Currently running 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 but they look a bit stretched, especially on the rear.

Is anyone running anything bigger ? Maybe 285/30/19 on the rear etc ?
Seems to be plenty of room for the rear to increase, not so sure about the clearance if increasing the fronts.

Thanks
Paul

I'm running VA 255/30/19 (ET45 8,5x19) - no issues.

same on the rear like you, but 275/30/19 will fit in too - John (Sagi Badger) runs that tire size...

cheers

Thanks Josef,

I've got the Powers Performance wheels which, according to their website, are ET40 front and rear. Not checked the actual wheel yet.

Will investigate further as wouldn't mind wider on the rear to avoid the stretched look.
I think John mentioned fitting 285/30 rear but can't find any posts saying he'd done it.

Thanks
Paul

I had ET35 rims before with the same tyre - did appr. 200km and no scrubbing with these too. Had to change them - no TÜV in Germany.

So ET40 should be ok

On the rear, I have ET35 and 265/30, so no problems with ET40 and 275/30...

Yep 275 is OK. I have a set of Jade R's being painted to fit the Tuscan, watch this space, and the plan is to fit 285's... I reckon two weeks and I will able to report. I am unsure what offset I have on the Jade R's on the Sag, but I know they are out a couple of mm further out than the Power wheels.

The camber on the rear can help avoid problems, but there are limits as grip will fall off.

Thanks John,

My main reason for going bigger is to get rid of the stretched look and get some sort of rim protection but I've not kerbed them yet so that's no a major issue.
Would like to go 255/30 front and 285/30 rear but need to be 100% certain nothing is going to rub otherwise it's an expensive exercise.

Hi John,
Just wondered if you'd had the 285s fitted to the Tuscan yet ?

I ordered 255/30 and 285/30 from a local outfit then found out today they can't supply for some reason frown
Looks like Blackcircles is the easiest option.

Nope, is the short answer.

Reason is I can't find track'y type tyres in that width. I have ordered 275 30's and 235 35's AD08Rs, these are correct width for the rims, 8.5 and 10". I can find T1's in the sizes but I wanted something as near to slick as I can get.
I am pretty sure you will squeeze a 285 on the back as my 275's clear the arches no problem. The Tuscan arches are closer than the Sag arches so the 275 will be interesting. What tyres are you looking to buy?

I've got Yokoham Advan Sport at the moment and always been happy with those so was going to stick with them.
My use is for road only so no track use. Changing the size is therefore a cosmetic thing rather than anything else. I've no issue with 235/35s on the front so maybe makes sense to go with 275/30 on the rear if they're the correct sizes for the rims.

Fitted, tested and..... yep good. Really grip. I don't think 295's would clear on the back as these do rub slightly, esp. if you load it up in the corner and push hard out and get the weight on the back on one side. I need a fatter anti roll bar, winter job.
