I would start by cleaning the door lock mechanism with some contact cleaner.

I would then try swapping the door ecu's. If the problem swaps to the drivers side then the ecu needs refurbing.

Possible stuck window 'up' switch? Worth a spray of WD40 into the actual lock area as well.

Door/window buttons stuck. WD40 of a bit of silicone spray to start if not fixed take the radio out to investigate the switches further.

Aha. Thanks. Interestingly the window wouldn't go down for door ooenning & when the down window button did occasionally work the window shot back up as soon as my finger left the button. Will try silicon spray on the button & hope for a simple fix.
Thanks

Had the same thing on mine a few months ago - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... It was the window button, the up one being stuck.
I had to take the switch out as silicone spray in situ didn't work. Took it all apart, sprayed, back together etc. All fine now.

Aha , so got the radio out & the glovebox out. Seems to be the up window switch. Disconnected the ribbon cable but how does the switch housing come off. Cannot see any screws so prob prises off bu don't want to damage it
