It needs a good polish. Been sitting around in storage too large. Just started to look at "reactivating" it.

Good idea. The car needs a bit of serious TLC to get it back up to spec, but once that is done I'll start to reach out to
Marcos folks. biggrin

Not at the moment. I need to decide what to do with this. Either LS it or add Vortex SC and the hardened extra bits to the engine. Then can tune it.

Ah ok. The reason I ask I met a chap at a local pub meet recently who had one of only 52 (IIRC) that had the ford v8 and a blower. He'd had it from new and was a wealth of information about them. Reputed 500hp allegedly. Quite a rare beast!

If you tune them up to 500 BHP as out of the Factory, they go bang. They need hardened cams then can handle it.

Mine is - according to info given from ex-owner - 1/30 and originally owned by Jem Marsh.

Supposed to be a very good example, although needs some TLC as needs some repairs on the bodywork and CF bits
doing, but nothing major. Will have that sorted out soon, then look at tuning.

Don't want to make it a major project car. Just tidy it up and add some BHP.

Hi Alex, interesting thread and I know that beauty is in the eyes and all that, but, I am afraid that it doesn't do it for me I am afraid ...obviously IM very HO. Maybe it looks better in the flesh.... I am just buying a Monaro as a bit of a Q car so feel free to express your opinion on that 😉!!

Yes, no problem with that thought. I like them because they are so odd looking - they standout
more like the Sag.

They are a marmite car that's for sure. If you see it - you'll see it biggrin

Monaro - nice choice. Bit eurobox for me, but nice car.

And TBH - the interior and dullness of the paint don't do it any favours atm.

When it is tidied up, it should look a lot better than the pictures do atm.

OK Alex, I will 'suspend my disbelief' until then :-).

Re the Monaro, I wanted something that would create a "what the f**k was that" moment as it warped into the middle distance! This harks back to my old man, an auto engineer (what he didn't know about the internal combustion engine wasn't worth knowing!)....he stuck an aircraft supercharger in a brand new Ford Corsair...slightly lowered it, importantly made sure the thing would stop and then went and had some fun.... on one occasion a guy in a Healey wandered up to him and enquired what he had under the bonnet saying "I was doing over 100 and you went past me like I was going backwards"....happy days! Pick it up next week and can't wait!
