OK Alex, I will 'suspend my disbelief' until then :-).

Re the Monaro, I wanted something that would create a "what the f**k was that" moment as it warped into the middle distance! This harks back to my old man, an auto engineer (what he didn't know about the internal combustion engine wasn't worth knowing!)....he stuck an aircraft supercharger in a brand new Ford Corsair...slightly lowered it, importantly made sure the thing would stop and then went and had some fun.... on one occasion a guy in a Healey wandered up to him and enquired what he had under the bonnet saying "I was doing over 100 and you went past me like I was going backwards"....happy days! Pick it up next week and can't wait!
Heh. Yeah, I'm not a turbo driver type. I like a bit of speed, but most of the time I'm mostly just tootling - hence the weirder cars are my preference. I really wanted something old style I could use for classic car meets and always fancied the Mantis because of the bonnet. Thus got it.

Have a Vixen, but that won't be on the road for a while, so...

All noted! Any thoughts about where you might get the rust treatment done?

Yup. Marcos chassis is similar design to the TVR ones, so I'm just handling it in
the same way.

TVR design is easier/cheaper to handle though. Marcos did a slight mistake here
as they bonded the body to the chassis, rather than bolt it on.

I'm also going to try and redo that at the same time.
