Hi interloper here from the griff forum. I have a griff 500 converted to PAS using a TVR PAS rack with the saxo electric PS pump which has worked fine for 5 years. got back from a drive, switched off the ignition and the pump continues to run (or sounds like it does) - it has never done that before. Mine is wired into the alternator with a relay and a fuse - T car wiring is probably different. pulled the fuse and the pump stops. Is this a problem that has also occurred on the T cars? knackered pump, relay, wiring glitch? help needed... thanks jes

Relay or diode in the alternator.

Take the wire off the alternator and see if it runs with the fuse in then, if not the alternator is giving 12V on the terminal all the time. If it runs it is the relay stuck closed

Mine is wired this way, I converted it from the mechanical pump

Does your Griff pull like a train?

My relay went tits up, its in the grey housing. No need to pay the TVR tax its a Pug part about £10 on flee bay or a bit more from a dealer.

gents thanks for the advice - it was the alternator. on the basis that its 20 years old I have taken it off and given it to a local guy for a strip down and full rebuild.

hi dom - still with the old fashioned rover lump. I am not sure that a speed 6 would last very long in my hands! having said that you have slaughtered yours for years with no ill effects so I am probably wrong. (-:
