I have this fault message for some weeks! With the fuel tank filled up it I imagine it does not appear (so often), the less fuel the more often it is shown.

Any idea how to fix this issue? As there is no "fuel sensor", I can not just buy a new sensor. smile

What could it be? The fuel tank sender, the wiring, high pressure in the tank, the Carbon Canister? Any help is appreciated!

As it depends on the level of fuel in the tank, it could be the fuel tank sender. So if the lever sits on one of the lower positions, the electric resistance is out of range.

Here's a picture of the fuel tank sender, where you can see the resistor track:

i had the same problem ..

it was just the earth connection in the passenger footwell inside (behind carpet) and also behind the battery ;-)

here are two earth connections.

It wasn't the earth connection, so it must be the sender in the tank.
