Seats for 2002 Tamora
Discussion
I have recently purchased aTamora from a well known enthusiast who lives in Blyth. I hope someone can help regarding the hight of the seats. This particular Tamora 2002 was designed with low seats. Is it possible to remove the seats and fit a spacer together with longer bolts.
Cheers,
Ray.

I raised mine using "unistrut" which gives about 40mm of additional height; the seat slightly fouls the hoop at some angles of recline, though as long as you remember to change the recline angle- this can be avoided.
It is a perfect height to fit a small subwoofer underneath to improve the audio system if you're inclined to do that at the same time.
I also moved the pedal back to its rearward position.

It's a doddle of a job...there's four floor bolts holding them to the underside of the car floor, you might be lucky and be able to get the bolts off easily but more like you'll need a flat blade screw driver to wedge between the seat runner and the bolt head to stop it spinning.when slackening the nuts off.
I spot welded the bolts to the runner frame so I don't have an issue with them now, the seats come out once a year to clean underneath.

If you chop a section out of some large penny washers you can raise the seats without taking them out, just loosen the bolts. Don't go too far otherwise when the seat is reclined or pushed back they will rub the targa hoop and squeak as you drive along. I tilted mine inwards by adding an extra washer or two to the outer bolts to stop this
