Does anyone have any recommendations for upgrading the lights on a T350? I currently have the standard front with nightbreaker bulbs but they’re still not great so I’d like an HID or similar style upgrade if possible. I know there used to be a problem with other circuitry (ie/ turn the lights on and the dash goes off for example) but is this still an issue? Happy to change whatever I need for it to work but I don’t want compromises elsewhere if possible.
Secondly, the same for the rear lights which according to my wife are very dull and the brake light, whilst brighter is still hard to distinguish when the rear lights are on – any LED bulb upgrades that are easy to do without messing about with bodywork?

If the rear lights are the same as a Tamora why don't you change the light units to LED's. Did it on mine and so much bright it's untrue

Rear lights are covered in here. I also noticed that both power and TVR parts seem to have LED rear lights listed for the T350. It's on my list of things to do, however it'll be a while before I make the switch myself.

For the front lights I'm looking at switching to LED bulbs. The fan cooled ones are definitely too big to fit so I am looking at this style.

I'm not sure if any of them will fit with the dust cover in place though.

Hi there.

I was interested to hear of anyone made any progress on the LED upgrades on both thefront and rear?

Looking to get a t350 v soon and I think the lights are gonna be one of the first upgrades I'm gonna do!

Seen the powers hid upgrade for the fronts. Any other recommendations for front and rear?

Stick with powers?

Fair few threads about LED bulbs on here. There's a good one in the Chimp enclosure started by Chimpongas.

I've used H7 LED bulbs like those in the post above in the driving lights of my Tamora for years. Nicer colour light and improved output. Already have LED headlamp units fitted - 7-inch units on the Tamora.

If the standard bulbs are dim them I'd carryout some electrical tests first to check you're getting 12v to them first.

Bear in mind that the actual output performance on 'our' cars is compromised slightly by the light units being on the low end of acceptable height range [off the floor]. So another check to do first is ensure that the headlamps are properly alligned.

LED headlights were a non starter on my T350 as there just isn't enough room to fit them in. Admittedly on my car there wasn't actually enough room for a standard bulb as the cover appears to have been fouling the light since new.

I modified the wheel arch cover slightly to give some more room and installed 2 HID kits (both dipped and main beam) which makes driving at night much more pleasant. Whilst you are there you might as well install LED sidelights of the same temperature (typically 6000k) for a consistent look.

Don't bother paying the TVR tax for the HID kit - you can pick up the same kit on eBay for half the price.

I run HID 5000k lights for the H/lights and have been in 5 years and vastly improve vision in dr y and wet conditions...tried LED h/ lights 18 months ago and weren’t impressed...they looked bright from the outside but the performance weren’t great and dangerous in the wet or dark as they offered poor to no illumination.I tried 4 different manufacturers and returned to my trusty HIDs

I run the hella LEDs for all the rear lights and front indicators and didn’t take long to fit.its a bit fiddly but easy enough to do...they’ve been in 4 years and had no issues. I’ve all so turned the red lights below the indicators into side lights as well as brake lights as one of the guys told me when they were following me travelling back from Le-Mans in torrential rain they couldn’t see the standard side lights in the lower cluster because of the water dragged up by the tyre....if you see what I mean.

Hi GouramiX,

Slight thread diversion...

Dropped my T350 off at Ian’s a few weeks back and saw yours there again. (I took him to collect your car one night before he sold it to you). I’d just started restoration of another T350 and couldn’t afford both. Still get a little jealous when I see it.

I wanted to steal the new wheel and tyre set-up but he wouldn’t let me!! biglaugh

Looks stunning. thumbup

Lol. Nice to hear from you. I popped in to see what the wheels looked like. I wasn’t sure what to expect but after seeing it up front I’m impressed my self. Saw your car in the garage as well. Nice colour blue. Those powers black would deffo look good on your car

Lol funny. Yes. Mines been in since August. But to be fair I’ve not been pushing for it back over the winter. But now that the sun is starting to creep back I’m not getting an itch.

Hi GouramiX,

Sorry for thread revival but your profile won’t accept emails. Do you have any pics of your car with the Powers wheel setup please (or anyone else).

Getting tempted.

Thanks

Hi mate. Sorry for the late reply. I’m more active on the fb group. Yeah have some pics. It’s a little high, could do with being dropped a touch. But Ian says this is best set up for handling. I’d rather take a hit on the handling for better looks 😂
