Afternoon peoples.

I remember seeing a thread about the dash being 'on' despite no ignition key being in place. Can I find it now? No.

Can anyone advise as to what I need to check? Or point me to relevant threads.

The car has been stood for a month and pretty damp. I have a heater in it currently.

It is on trickle charge so the battery should be fine.

Could it simply be the damp?

Quick update.

Had a look at the fusepanel and it is covered in condensation. So have repositioned the small heater fan to concentrate on this area.

The car has been parked up as the fuel pump cut out. Turns out the fuse had blown. Today, I swapped out and the new one blew instantly. This might be becuase of the damp on this occasion but I expect there is another issue which is still present that caused it to blow originally.

I leave a couple of trays of damp control crystals In the car this time of year they work surprisingly well.

Sounds very familiar... The problem is that the fusebox is in two halves that clip together and you will almost certainly find the inside is full of water and the copper tracks corroded. When I took my fusebox out and opened it up it was a right mess - I too had the dash on problem. I bought a new fusebox and all problems sorted. I think you may well continue to have problems as its very difficult to dry out the insides and the corrosion causes issues with current tracking across different contacts. I now keep a dehumidifier in the car. Think the problem is condensation on the metal bar above the fusebox which drips down onto it.

New fusebox is I think about 200 quid or so from TVR Parts.

If it's not the damp check the Dior pack on the alternator is not on the way out. When mine went tits up it was the alternator. Used to switch the dash off by pushing the brake pedal.....

Load of 'absorbant' bags in the car and the heater (on low thermastat setting) left in the car this week. Noted that teh dash had gone off when I left yesterday - but that could be a flat battery laugh

Right.

Looks like the damp was causing this issue.

Car been dried out this week and the dash is 'off'. Now just need to sort the non-running.
