Hi all,

There is a Laser Blue T350C for sale on PH, with what appears to be the black plastic dial for the intermittent wipers replaced with an ally one to match the rest of the switchgear. Are these readily available or perhaps arranged through the forums?

Thanks.

It looks like they've used a bog standard controller button as used for the heater controls etc

Its standard on later cars, so should be easy to get hold of. Its inscribed with a wash wipe logo, smaller and a different shape to standard heater controls

The one on that T350 doesn't look like an original TVR version. Mine is Nov 04 and never came with one and I've only ever seen 2 cars with one fitted. Some of the last ones don't have it. So don't think it's standard but could be wrong.

A machining company should be able to produce it if they can scan it. One offs not cheap, but doable. I got a few things done as one offs for restorations/mods

Might be one of those limited bits the factory had lying around. My Sagaris has it and I have the build pics before the car was registered and its fitted, so I assumed it was just standard

They are. My Sag has it as do many other cars. You need to reproduce it (scan and CNC), then emboss/laser cut as needed

I saw this dial on one Tamora over the last few years.

My T350 is 2003 and without that dial, I have the plastic version only. I am not sure if it was ever standard, maybe for very short time only? Do not forget that later Sagaris models do not have the aluminium switch gear but plastic sticks.

I would like to have such aloy dial to plug on the plastic.

I presume he means the Ford indicator stalks which appeared to blight some of the very late cars.

They ran out - parts or money - I can't say which.

Most of the early cars have the ally switch gear, the later cars have a mixture.

Whatever was in the spare parts bin at the time hehe

But ALL the stalks are Ford Mondeo stalks on to a Ford steering column, just TVR ran out of Ally pepper pot covers , because the workforce put holes in them to make cruet sets and took them home smile .
Do people not realise the hollow aluminium covers are just glued to the plastic ends ?????

Yes, I mean the Ford indicator stalks.

But back to topic: is there any one who wants to produce alloy switch covers for us?

I bow to your knowledge, they were blighted nonetheless. I always suspected the aluminium was covering something as they feel flimsy, should have put two and two together.
