Buzz,
just in case you consider not to go for spiders but for other / aftermarket 18" rims: I went for OZ Alleggerita and took 8.5" rear and 8" front. As to my view 8" gives a better fit to 225 tires. But there are not that many options for rims available in 8" and in 8.5" - specially if you want to meet the original offset.

Hi all,

Looking at a couple of different options with Bola but also looking at a 3 piece billet aluminium configuration by a company next door to our US HQ in Jacksonville.

I'm running 225/40fronts 255/40 rear as I'm fed up with the limited choice of tyres for the car. I've helped this by modifying the inner front and rear wings which does really help with the square shouldered track day tyres such as 888, 48's or as currently running Toyo R1R's which are a good road tyre with pretty good wet weather performace over 888/AO48's.

Hi All,
this is a quick comparison I´ve made on the size:

You might consider to use 5 mm track plates with the OZs on each side at the rear. This would get you back to the track with with 16" spiders.

How do OZ Alleggerita look like? Do they fit?

A key advantage of the the OZs is their weight. 8x18" are slightly less than 8 kg. Build quality is excellent in my eyes. And there some colour options also.

...which I confirm.

How about SP12 rims?
I used to run 18" SP12s on my Tamora F 8,0 x 18, 36mm offset (225/40-18); R 9,0 x 18, 33 mm Offset (255/35-18). With Toyo R1R Tyres rubbing was too much even after hightening the car's body.
Finally last year I changed to 17" rims. Again I picked SP12s. Offset is slightly different and narrower: F 40 (225/45-17), R 35 (245/45-17). Tyres are Dunlop Sport Maxx.

Hopefully this can be helpful to find the right offset for the new rims of your car.
