Easy way to find out....go and knock on the door! the-norseman said:

It's stored there, it's owned by the remapping chap who lives close by. He's on Facebook if you want to contact him.The other Tam in MK

I know the remapping guy, he put a remap on my little Smart CDI recently. The other Tam in MK
The owners of the house where its stored have something to do with the car industry as they have a different press car on the driver most weeks from different manufacturers.
Isn't it a bit stalkerish, and creepy though? And it puts the "Pistonheads Postman" in a strange position. What does he do? Wait until they are out, and put it through the door? Middle of the night? What if they are outside when the calls round. What does he say? Here is a note from someone. I've just been asked to deliver it......
If it was for sale, then it would be advertised online as for sale, or are you saying that anything is for sale at a price, and you're prepared to pay that price? That's not very financial adviser is it?!

Lucy P, thanks so much for your input.
I brought that car back from the dead, engine rebuild, interior retrim, electrics sorted - it was destined for the scrapyard otherwise. Gracefully I’ll locate it without your extremely helpful commentary. Everything is always for sale at a price. The sentimental value this car has to me and my family is worth paying. We bought a house in cornwall using the proceeds when I sold it, but I would like it back. I’ve owned four TVR’s, two of which have been rack and ruin and given a new lease of life through my hard work.
I wasn’t aware the TVR community was so judgemental. Sad, woke, times we live in !!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a big difference between seeing your old car at say a petrol station or a TVR gathering and introducing yourself to the owner and taking it from there, and tracking your old car down online through 3rd parties that you don't even know and have never met, and asking such a person to put a note through someone's door. That is almost stalkerish and creepy.
The way you write, you sound obsessed with getting it back, as if all the money you spent on it gives you some kind of entitlement. That's weird. It's not your car anymore.

Lucy,
Thanks again for your helpful response.
I owned TVR’s for around a decade and I can honestly say I never came across anyone as judgemental as you have been here.
I’m trying to track down a family treasure, which we have pictures on the wall of (still). If you don’t like that then you are, of course, entitled to your opinion.
If you don’t like my approach then you are clearly totally entitled to this opinion.
I have been in touch with the previous two owners of the car because I’ve been desperately trying to keep track in order to one day purchase it back. Unfortunately I haven’t been in a position to do so until now. At no point did the other owners find it “creepy” or “weird” when I shared pictures with them of the refurb, retrim, engine build, pictures that were used in Sprint magaizine.
The work, and effort, I spent meant this car was one of four in the world of this specification so I don’t really think it’s in appropriate to try to keep track of how it is.
Your engagement here is so disappointing for an TVR owner and I’m actually not sure why you’ve felt the need to get involved.
Sad times when this sort of keyboard warrior attitude is displayed from what used to be such an inclusive membership group.
PS, the fact you think I was expecting someone to stand outside a total stranger’s house delivering a note is LUDICROUS.
What a sad world we now find ourselves in

You did expect someone to deliver a note! Have you forgotten what you said at 15:16 today?
Let me remind you!
"Would anyone be able to do me a massive favour and put a piece of paper through the owners door with my details?"
If everyone got people to put notes through people's doors about things that the house owner owned, and they would like to buy, or buy back, there would be a lot of notes, and a lot of lack of privacy.
Perhaps you wouldn't mind me stopping you in the street, and asking to buy your watch back that I once owned. Perhaps stopping your wife and asking to buy my dress back that I sold?
Where does this end?
And yes, keeping a track on things you used to own is weird. That's why auction houses are obliged to use paddles for bidding. Thankfully, it provides privacy, and stops people knocking on your door wanting to buy their antiques back, or more likely the under-bidder who lost out wanting to do a deal with you as the successful bidder.

Nothing wrong with trying to track down something you once loved and put so much effort into. Someone, well, THAT would be ‘stalkerish and creepy’.
I’m sorry this has been misconstrued as entitlement, all i can see is a member of a small like-minded community chancing his arm at potentially buying his old car back.

As Norseman says, you’d be better off finding out the company details of the remap company and reaching out to the owner directly.
Don’t worry about Lucy. Despite what he/she/they thinks, they don’t run the forum. Ironically when some asks about a car on the forum, Lucy is often the person that’s checking the MoT history and passing comment on the vehicle’s condition…which in my eyes is a bit stalkerish.

Every person that’s ever owned and loved their Tvr would like to keep track of it in their heart.
Gosh Lucy the average TVR owner would love an old owner, one who clearly put his money where his mouth is to still have that affinity with the car.
Have you ever tried selling one?
The present owner may well wish to move on themselves at some point which is then very handy to have a possible buyer waiting in the wings.
And to the o/p as a current owner myself for over 12 years now, people who still own Tvr are just as you say and we never shy away from previous owners or anyone showing interest in our cars. It’s quite normal in fact.
The rather faceless person who has often replied in such a disingenuous way to many threads should be ignored.
You often hear of people hoping to get hold of previous owners or more often than not previous owners wanting to check on the health of a car they once owned This is called being an Enthusiast.
I have no idea why Lucy would suggest this is creepy other than he/she is not of the same ilk as said enthusiasts…………
Sad we have to put up with this form of trolling really.
Lucy do you own a Tvr or ever owned one.
A trait I’ve noticed is ex owners or people who had a bad Tvr experience often have a one track mind when discussing these cars and it’s always very negative.
I wonder if this is the case with our TVR friend known as Lucy P.
We can help you with this Lucy by finding you a really sorted car which should change your perception for years to come..
and have a nice day while your at it.
