RE: Tamora Demo
Discussion
Before any one get's too excited about the imminent arrival on our wee tamora( like i have many times!!)just heard through the old grapevine, that TVR have got the same problem as the Cerbera/Tuscan with the alloys. If anyone can clarify if this is true, please let the general public know!!!
Depends what you're referring to?
- One batch of Cerbera 17" Raceline wheels suffered cracks.
- Owners of 18" Tuscan wheels are claiming that the inside edge of the wheels is prone to buckling due to lack of support.
Two different problems, neither of which should affect the Tamora with its chunky tyres.

The Tamora runs on the same wheels as the original Tuscan - since these are the oldest of Tuscans, and there has been little panic in the ranks, at least about Tuscan wheels, I reckon it's safe to assume this particular scare story is a Chinese whisper from other stories as mentioned by Ted in his previous post. For goodness' sake, people, these are truly great cars, with a few foibles. Go and buy an effing BMW, Boxster or some other German stuff if you value efficiency so much - me, give me a flawed character, with a heart of gold any day - 'cos that's what you get with TVR. They will be perfect one day, but, brother, don't hold your breath!! (Adopts safe cover for flak...)

Nubbin, unless this has changed for the production cars, the Tomaras I have seen are running on 16" wheels the same style as the current Tuscans, i.e. what I would call the Spider's legs wheels. Early Tuscans ran on Raceline wheels the like the Cerbera 4.5.

It's funny how you can get more information from here better than at the factory!!!
Asking for the obvious, when is mine to be delivered or even built is too difficult for them!!
Not moaning about the car, can't wait for it coz it sounds great, but their customer care is just a little bit floored.

Dicky, I've ordered mine, and the factory are saying January as the delivery date. If you geet your order in, I don't think there's a huge production run of orders to be filled, so get in there, sharpish, before the warm weather starts the rush of hungry customers! (oh, yeah, say the cynics!)
Nubbin me old china, i ordered mine at the NEC last year and have been told i would have it for Le Mans 2001, well that came and went, told i would have it for October, thats gone.it is just frustrating you get told one date and it just goes by. Now told the facory I want it for my birtday in March, so they should manage that. I even bought a "Y" plate for it coz at the time it would of been in date, never mind you soon learn. ordered a new mini for the wife in September, not the same I know but told at the latest it will be january. Why can't TVR be like that their street cred would go up by miles. Unfortunately this is my first TVR so i am just frustrated of the waiting, it will be worth it but the wait is like hell.If I had a TVR it obvciously wouldn't be as bad.If you get yours on time any chance of you taking us for a blast!!!!

I've got to agree with Thom. I was eating dinner today and saw the back end of a Tuscan in cobalt blue. I bolted up and ran over to the roadside to have a look (drool!) at it, even though I was being watched by many people who probably thought I was insane! Ferraris and Porsches can't do that, only a TVR can.
I did exactly the same, Dicky - ordered at the Motor Show, waited and waited and waited.....and waited a bit more! I was in fact asked to spec. mine in late August, but I've delayed whilst sorting out p/ex, bank loans etc. I'm apparently first in line from my dealer, who should have a demo car next week. It's so frustrating, isn't it, waiting and drooling, drooling and waiting - I think that's why I spend so much time on this website, to keep in touch with every last snippet of info/opinion. Still, it's getting close. If I get mine first, I'll take you out for a drive, if you'll do the same for me!! i'm certainly hoping to have mine by March, and especially for the charity drive to Monaco (see Chimaera thread.) Best of luck, and let me know how you're getting on!!

it's nice to hear it's not just me hitting my head onto a brick wall. All those guys at the club who said the Tamora was c**p, and now admit it's good, just want to prove how good it is. All the reports have been good about it( only about 10-15 magasines on it so far)
Must admit given up phoning the factory as you realise that all is not quite as they say!!
But I'm sure as Number one at my garage it will be worth it, just waiting for their demonstrator,so i can go for a wee burn in it. If i hear anything I shall let you know.

I've chosen Halcyon Atlantis Pearlescent, which acts like a reflex blue/green without the expense! I'm going on a factory vist on the 14th., and I will make a final decision on the interior then. So far, it's dark blue hood, navy blue carpets, and light grey/magnolia, in the "bison" grained hide stuff, for seats, dash etc. - but the Lamonta seat and boot inserts need colour coding, too. If anyone has any magazine articles I'd love to have copies scanned and e-mailed. I've seen the main ones, EVO, Car, Top Gear, Auto Express, but if there's any others....
Like the rest of you I ordered on the first day of the Motor Show and have been waiting patiently since! Went to the factory 6 weeks ago and decided on GTS Blue, charcoal Bison, grey carpets and Royal Blue lamonta. Still can't decide about the anthracite alloys? What do you reckon?
Spoke to my dealer yesterday (Kings), they're expecting their demonstrator this month and have been told that mine's down for mid/late December!
Sooner the better as my Chimaera needs servicing soon........

We looked at the lamonta and couldn't ge a match inside with the bison, so just be careful with the matching. Sounds nice nubbin, i haven't even been up to the factory yet,not even asked!!!
that's service for you never mind i look forward to that lift in yours. Shall try to scan something you ain't got!!!(what about autocar?)
