Really?

Following run in, I can't imagine that your driving style could be so abrasive to take out the engine?

Are you sure it's not a fault rather than 'mis treatment' (or however I should put what you are intimating)?

What has the factory/dealer said?

Gutting non the less. Any others had issues like this?

I'm not quite certain whether you're being sarcastic here or not! Has the dealer accussed you of driving badly or something?

Agreed, you can't have done that much wrong can you?
I assume you haven't been doing 8000rpm in first pulling off your driveway just after you've started the engine!

Sh1te! Sorry to hear that mate, a mistake anyone could make in the heat of the moment IMO.

Did the car just bang and coast to a halt or was it more 'spectacular' (for want of a better word)?

Bugger! Bad news and very unlucky. I suppose the positive thing is it could have been worse and that at least you are still in one piece.

Any news on what the damage is going to be?

An expensive lesson! If it was a 4th to 3rd downshift, its probably NOT what you want to hear, but TVR's have pretty good brakes for slowing down. Engine braking is never a good idea.

Hope the bill isn't too much.

Sorry to hear your news. But a question - how many revs is 90 mph in 3rd? Surely more than should be used when running in or is it the fully monty on a speed 6 engine after 2k miles?
