sunninghill insurance hike
Discussion
Well last time I spoke to Sunninghill they told me it was Tuscan owners who would have a problem as it's Tuscans that are crashing all the time. No one has written a T350 off yet....fingers crossed.
I just had a quote from Privilege of £678 for mine which is within a tenner (cheaper) of last years Sunninghill quote. I'll see what happens when their quote eventually comes through before I worry....

I think the general rule with insurance companies is to change every year as they tend to quote low to start with, in order to get your business, hoping that you will stay with them.
Direct Line and NU Direct are a good bet as they are virtually at war with each other and depending on who you call first will always try and under-cut each others quotes just to get your business.
I think most of them rely on the fact that most people can't be bothered to call round for quotes each year so stay with the same company, hence they increase the premiums

Sunninghill haven't upped my premiums significantly for the 7 years I've been with them.... so in my experience this isn't entirely true as a general rule...
Insurance is a funny old game - you really do need to shop around as much as possible as they work on "profiles". These profiles will differ from insurer to insurer as they want to attract a certain type of customer... nothing more cynical than that I am afraid....
Its really bizzare - for example I can forget using someone like Direct Line or Priviledge (its a DL company) as they have NEVER given me a good quote... so much so that I entered in the same car as a friend and got a quote around double the amount... but then again I can get stonkingly low quotes from specialists at the moment - and dont ask me why.... its really down to the individual and circumstances for that insurer at that time.... my TVR is currently with A Mannings but only for a saving of £50. Last year used to be with Elephant.co.uk who are stunningly cheap for me for anything from a Jeep to a TVR. It doesnt make sense!
