30 Tamoras built in 2001.

I've got the first customer Tamora (one of two that left the factory on the same day) that was delivered on January 24th 2002. So that means the 30 includes all dealer demos, press cars and prototypes.

Does that should about right? How many dealers were there in late 2001?
well our old tamora was the 14th built and was originaly at peter smiths sports cars so

These numbers came from Ben Lang via J Oxley, provided to Land Transport New Zealand (our DVLA) in support of an individual's application to import and register a Sagaris. The manufacturer's production numbers are significant because in order to be exempt from frontal impact testing it must be proven to be low volume, ie <200 units per year).

My understanding is that the position Ben held (or perhaps that should be 'holds'?) with TVR was/is a senior one, and he could be regarded as a reputable source for this information.

I don't know why the Boss wouldn't be here - maybe Phil's special was off the radar as an internal job, or not considered a 'Cerbera'. There's no Tuscan racers, Speed 12s, T400R, etc. here either.

Regarding 30 2001 Tamoras - when I was buying mine in 2004 there was handful of used 2001 Tams available, the only one I went to view wasn't ex-demo. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that 30 were built and perhaps not all sold.

The 1,996 Cerberas figure came from a thread in the Cerb forum and IIRC it was an ex-TVR employee who gave it. Quite a big difference to these numbers, no idea why that is.

No disrespect to Steve or the other authors quoted above, but I don't know that they would have had better information from TVR at the time as production was probably considered quite commercially sensitive while they were still manufacturing. And there's the question of what you're counting - customer orders, production line, registrations...
OK I'm following the reasoning for these figures and why they are so specific in as much as they were produced to get round some bureaucracy.
Credit is due to both Jason and Ben for assisting you with these figures but in no way can they be regarded as gospel because, as previously stated here and elsewhere in the past, TVR do/did not have accurate production figures for the majority if not all of the models they produced.

Ben himself was present at my recent meeting with TVR and was the source of the statement that only 2 Sagaris IIs were built.

And this is TVR.... wink

The figures I disputre are the Sagaris figures. My number came from MP so they should be correct + a few more post closure.

Mine is one of the 176 built in 2002. It was registered August 2002. On the back of the heater Amplifier on masking tape is written 04/04/02, so I assume mine was built between April&August 2002 time.

How many Tams are 4.0L speed 6's ?

Some suggest that 300ish is probably right. Not sure anyone really knows. So, rare anyway. Had mine for 3 years, in that time, other than at TVR 'events' only ever seen one other on the road!
You should drive to Maida Vale, there are 2 of us Tam owners within 100 yards!

I took it in for a service a few months ago, whilst it was there they fitted a new lens cover and replaced the wiper blades. The lens cover came off a few weeks ago and on my way back from the west country the wipers stopped working. So it's back at the shop! I'm also getting my roof recovered as it's stained. How are you? I see that you've added some stickers, have you been racing?
