... Neil I had this from the same dealer (you know this).

Car was still on the line 2 weeks after the/your dealer requested payment.( I have a fellow PH'ers photo to prove it).

Be warned mate, in my case its messy and in court....

I know Andy. You'll have to let me know how you're getting on. Turns out I might have to remind our mutual friend about you after all - although if you are in court he probably doesn't need a reminder!

If I was considering switching dealer for the PDI and/or subsequent services, could that affect the warranty? Is the warranty from TVR or the dealer (or combination thereof)?

Its a TVR Warranty and therefore portable within the chain. They discourage it but if they like it or not its a manufacturers warranty.

Cheers Matt, thought so but, as I have experienced in these last few weeks, anything can happen......

Something to do with them being hand built, or so I keep being told

.... Neil I changed dealers based on my troubles. Gave Jason Oxley a call at the factory, explained I was having trouble/lost confidence in them etc etc and could he recommend an alternate dealer. He did so and also contacted the alternative dealer to smooth this sort of thing over.

No issue with warrenty OR getting the 600 mile service FOC. I'm very happy with the service with my new dealer.

You have to consider that based on your experience so far do you trust that dealer with your c.40K car on an ongoing basis

In thier case I didn't!!!!

Please feel free to mail me off-line if you feel the need to let off some steam!!!

Cheers Rob,

Just had an interesting email from an alternative dealer offering help and advice.

Andy? You after some comission or a little sweet pay-back?

TVR are on half-term this week.

There is a skelteton staff (Dad and a few others) but I don't think Jason is there.

Best trying Monday morning.

I did speak to Danielle this afternoon - my car doesn't even have an engine yet! Maybe I can just pay for the bits it does have?

.. Gaffer

I know you "look in occassionally", and don't expect you to get formally involved BUT.

This "dealer" seems to be ruining the TVR ownership experience. Personally when I visited the factory/specced my car and saw the passion/craftmanship of the workforce for these cars I was proud to be a customer. This dealer seems to be in the habit of ruining the experience and in my own case has cost me a fair amount of money.

I thought mine was an isolated case but in the circumstances highlighted by this thread can we make a formal complaint about thier procedures.

I very nearly got shot of my car based on the treatment I recieved. I'm glad I didn't and after the obvious niggles were sorted (by my new non supplying dealer), lurve TVR again.
