FWIW the dots on the bodyshell look to be caused by the peel ply used during vacuum debulking

And vinyl acetate ??? vinylester maybe.

It's a TVR for christ sake

Yeah Vinyl what ever, anyway doesn't get away from the fact that he was hyping it up (through bull or ignorance I wonder?) when in fact all he's got is a mildly tuned T350, OK some elements of the final product are being trialled on his car as a precursor to the 'Wide Boy' variant, so you could call him a TVR test pilot or maybe just a Jockey

The dots look to me like core matting which is applied to the back of the glass fibre to add rigidity and strength to large flat panels, without the weight of GRP. You'll notice the dots don't extend into the corners, as the shape of the corners mean they are already rigid.

You could well be right. Coremat doesn't usually print through though, I wonder why it does so here ?

FWIW: For What It's Worth

I'll duck out at this point as anything and everything seems to inflame argument !

I reckon it shows through due to the thin nature of the GRP, and probably the light conditions in the photo. The GRP is a bit translucent when thin.

Its just the same on a Tuscan racer bonnet fresh from the factory. Just ask Ben 'five bonnets' Samuelson

What is you beef exactly ? I answered a question on the other thread - do you have a problem with that?

And yes it is just a TVR....

Good to see the T350 forum has succumbed once again to the pantomime virus.

Well you come on here claiming this and that, stating how you've got some super special secret TVR but you've got bugger all to back it up with (that is until me/Nubbin tells you what your cars made of).

I think most people just got fed up of reading your unsubstantiated claims, for Christ sake you even managed the unmanageable and wound up the usually charming, mild mannered Flasher

Hate to add to this but for the record, Tivster told me what his car was made of yesterday in an email....

And a few weeks ago he also told me the reasons why TVR had told him not to make the details public. Reasons that seemed sound to me....

Not got a beef with anyone on here and am not taking sides, and maybe Tivsters methods rubbed a few people up the wrong way, but to suggest he didn't know until you told him, Mike, is a bit unfair.

I'm sure I don't just speak for myself when I say its a real shame it has come to this guys. As someone fairly new to PH I look forward to all of Tivs, Flashers, Nubbins and Bennos posts as they are always the most interesting and informative (speaking from a T350 point of view here).

Thanks Neil - this whole business is crass... no-one believes anyone that's not in the 'gang'.

Sorry Ted, you appear upset at the Humble Pie post... but maybe direct some of that control over the characters that caused the grief in the first place.

Frankly for me this forum serves no purpose and provides nothing anymore other than a destination where getting called a liar or fantasist is commonplace and appears to be the norm.

It's a sad day when the forum bully boys get their way (not Ted or the moderators I might add).... but hey ho I've a life to get on with and with that in mind I'm off.....

I don't consider myself to be 'in the gang' or a forum bully. I was and am interested in the development of the car.

I have to say that, whatever your reasons, the way you disseminated the information was always likely to cause some cynicism and questionning. However this shouldn't deteriorate into the sort of name calling we've seen on here - but I guess some of you guys have a fair bit of history, so perhaps a truce is a bit much to hope for.

I still think its bloody strange for TVR to make the performance pack cars with a lighter shell and not promote the fact. But there you go - I'm used to TVR Motorsport doing some apparently strange things too.

Good grief! What a bunch of big kids, "My daddys got a faster on than yours!"....... Who cares! What I want to know is the upgrade worth the money, and does the car perform better, Than it already did?

Shaving the best part of 50Kg off the weight, and adding 40bhp or so to the power, should add a little something to performance!! Sub 4secs to 60, sub-9 to 100, I shouldn't wonder. Probably all in preparation for the T350s taking over the Tuscan race series next yaer. That really is something to look forward to....!

The special woven mat is the dotted stuff being used in the photos below which all t350's are using.

Tivster if you paid 7k more for some different engine management software, different GRP glue and a big bore exhaust then you have every reason to tell everybody as nobody would otherwise know, especially when you come to sell.

So why exactly has he been 'almost' telling everyone on here? This is my point - respect TVRs requests or spill the beans, don't give us all this "I'm in the know" crap all the time.

Guys, don't expect too much from the conversion.

Tuscan S is still the fastest TVR.

Well, afaik I've got the first T350 special performance pack with the lightweight body.

TVR sales in Germany are pretty good.

We've got a lot of interest and also have got some good reviews from the german press.

A lot of reviews will follow next year and hopefully some more orders will follow as well.
