I was just thinking, if the engine in the T400R/T440R can be supercharged to make the T550R as on order by Christof, then what's to stop the engine in the T350C being supercharged to give maybe 500bhp?

Nothing, apart from several months in hospital in traction !

Wheeler said a car like the Speed12 shouldnt be allowed in the hands of the public or something similar.

I imagine a 500bhp T350 wouldnt be far short of the lunacy that the Speed 12 provoked.

Seem to recall it snapped the 1000bhp dyno... (the engine that is).

Interestingly, I spotted the burgundy Cerbie Speed 12 in Castle's showroom a few months back... with a tag of £120,000... and a "sold" sign...

I think the Speed 12 is now back at the factory. I'm sure I saw some recent "factory tour" pictures with it in.......................

There was a bright red Speed 12 at the factory last Friday (17th) which was been prepped for it's buyer - £115,000 apparently.

A colleague at work has a friend who has just bought a TVR for a 6 figure sum - could be one of these but I'm not sure.

Those photos were from my factory tour. The girl that took us around said that it had had a "slight accident" on the track. The other side (not shown) was a real mess - door hanging off the hinges.

Nasty!

Looks like a Cerbera with a badly fitted bodykit. Guy who owns CARISMA interior styling owns something similiar looking

Is that the point ?

Is this the one that was at Racing Green for a while?

Has enormous presence but is just so W--I--D--E that even ignoring the 900bhp for a moment (as if you could) it would be fairly unusable on public roads.

How did you work that out?
Surely the most it could put out is 880bhp (it being 2 sp6 with the crankshafts geared together, and the top sp6 putting out 440bhp allegedly).

This would not be enough to break a 1000bhp dyno.

Mind you having watched a supra being dynoed on rollers (and jumping all over the place) I wouldn't want to be around when anyone dynoed an 800bhp TVR

I'm no physicist but I'd be willing to bet that it was the torque of the engine that snapped the dyno's input shaft.

As for the seeming descrepancy in power, I'd be willing to bet that there is a certain amount of overall power-loss for an engine that would allow two Speed Six banks joined to a common crankshaft to generate a bit more than twice the power that either of them could generate on their own.

Plus, I bet in the early testing of the engine, they weren't worried about emissions and ran the engine with both intake and exhaust virtually unrestricted.

I'm not a physicist either, but I am a mechanical engineer and you are right about it being the torque that caused in the input shaft on the dyno to break.

(Thank your lucky stars everyone, I resisted the temptation to post the formula here! )
