OK, I topped up the oil - took a litre!
I'd be checking regularly Chris. The level was fine before I had it serviced (6k service), I just had a gut feeling the guys who serviced it weren't too bothered about how much, or rather, how little oil they put in.
Haven't been driving it much anyway, due to heavy workloads, I seem to spend more time driving it to different garages for upgrades - and I should hopefully have the 4.3 upgrade within the next 6 months - all going well.....
Plan to go to the Neil Garners meet next Saturday, though, as long as it's not raining heavily...
