I'm considering changing the wheels on my Sag.

For those who have already done it what wheel/tyre size did you go for and which wheel ?
More importantly what difference have you noticed from the original 18 spiders ?

There are a lot of wheels out there and not all of them look good on the Sag.

I like the 19inch wheels being sold by TVR Power, similar to JADE-R, but someone is saying they're too heavy.
Even better are those on "Candy" when it appeared at the motorshow, anyone know who made those ?

Any photos would be appreciated.

Thanks for any replies/comments

I got the ones that the 'original' Sagaris2 was supposed to have - they are called Jordan's and supplied by Mania Racing / Vogue International. A few of the Sagaris2 cars were fitted with this wheel. Vogue International told me last year when I bought mine that they had discontinued the wheel and only had a couple of sets left but apparrently about 80 sets (18inch) and 30 sets (19inch) were bought by TVR (thats what he said). So if you like them, maybe Racing Green or someone could source them. The tyre is 255/30 19 both front and rear - a very difficult size to get hold of and last year only continental made them.

I run a Team Dynamics 19" (as does FUBAR in the Cerb forum). They look like this:

Don1 - you and I run the original Sag2 wheels (looks like you got them from Team Dynamics where as I got them from Vogue.

The Jade R wheel is the set they showed on the second Sag2 at the preview show last year.

I think I'm right but stand to be corrected!!!

Ah, the old motorshow wheels. Yes, very nice, no idea why they didn't go on production models. Cost cutting maybe?

Team Dynamics - problem is its now an old style and has been replaced by Jordan R and then Jade R....or the modified ones from TVR Power.

I can attest to that - the handling on mine was so much sharper than another. Might be properly set up, but the only noticable difference was the alloys...

I think I may wait until Chatsworth and see some wheels "in the flesh".

Out of interest what width wheels and sized tyres are people running ?
The natural size for 19inch wheels would be 19X8.5 and 255/30 tyres but I see the TVR Power 19inch wheels are 19X10 with 265/30 rear and 19X8.5 with 235/35 tyres on the front. This gives a 6mm increase in rear diameter and 11mm at the front.

I assume there is a good reason for going with different sizes ?

Very interested in the ones on the Candy Red Sag (6 Spoke ones). Does anybody know where to get them? I can't find anything searching for Jordan R's. Have found the 5 spoke Jade R's though.

They were made by team dynamics, a number of us looked into getting some more made but the number needed was to high. I am still in the camp that does not think a 19" wheel is that good on a Sag - to some it looks better (i do think they look good), I have had both and 18"s imo run better. On track 18"s are way better and I would like to try 17's on it one day but I can not fit my brakes under 17's.

You also need to think about offset. I now run different offsets and different width's front to rear and it has transformed the car.

Have come across a company that can make custom wheels at not stupid prices. They are setup to do
one offs. They are currently doing wheels for a mate of mine, if they work well, I might try them myself
for a 19" design of my own.
