RE: TVR Sagaris!
Discussion
I would guess that the towel is to allow easy access to the oil, water caps and have the main bonnet bolted down Tuscan style (so it can be lighter). Also I imagine the vents over the wheels arches are to reduce pressure in order to reduce lift. Looks very interesting......

Yeah....4 seats or 2 ??
Surely TVR can't let the Cerbie go until a new 2+2 becomes available. I don't think we need another 2 seater!!
This baby's gonna have 2 seats. The current Cerbera will be around for another couple of years then they will bring a new Cerbera model out. Without the AJP V8 though I've also been told that the T440 2+2 option is not avaiable at the moment and not sure about plans in the future.
But I do know that this new T350 is gonna be the nuts, plenty of horses, very light and a mean looking baard
the car seems to be attracting the usual huge volume of silly names - facvourites include Mother-in-Law and saggyarse.
It is of course going to be utterly superb, and I have a sneaking suspicion that they might update the Tamora for the summer - just so as not to start anything on this most heated of forums; I don't know that : I have no mates at the factory : have not seen spy shots from a factory tour. this is just a guess based on the realtive success of the hard top derivatives and the success of their styling.

I recently spoke to one of the Tamora designers, at the factory, and there are NO plans to update the Tamora at the moment - obviously they are working on lots of stuff at the moment, and it looks like convertibles are low down on the list of TVR models. It probably is not worrying for Peter Wheeler that Tamoras are not selling too well, because I reckon he wants to build a few more T440s, so that next year's Le Mans cars actually have a chance to run without restrictors and weight penalties.
It'll be 3-4 years before another convertible appears, IMHO....

The other sagaris was one of Aeneas servants...
Again can't imagine why they would name it after a servant of one of the famous greek characters .
Harry
Sorry to really anal but Aeneas was Trojan.
Feel free

Sorry, but I've just finished studying classics! Anyway why did TVR ever leave the names in the first place, they were much better. Glad they're back.

Totally agree... Numbers only work on higher volume/higher profile cars which enter "mainstream culture". Hence BMW can get away with it due to their popularity, as can Porsche & Ferrari as they're talked about so much. When you're more of a niche manufacturer, you need much stronger branding than a 3 digit number.
Think I've been surrounded by marketing & media types for a bit too long now!

If it looks anything like the picture than it looks mean as it should, like to see ho wthat bonnet opens though.
Is this going to be the one make series racing to take over from the tuscan racing or more in GT and Endurance??
Simon
The car will initially run alongside the Tuscans in the Tuscan Challenge as a Class B (if the 2003 regs are carried over to 2004). It will be interesting to see the difference in speed (if any) of the two cars. The Tuscan Challenge cars are alive and well for the forseeable future - it costs enough as it is without buying a new car!! I guess the Tuscans will gradually fade away over a few years.
It will also run in the Cup class of the GTs, but don't be surprised if it is faster in Tuscan Challenge trim, as it will be free of restrictions.
I would be amazed if the motorsport version doesn't have a front end that lifts off in its entirety, in the same way the current Tuscan race cars do.

The 2+2 isn't available? The 1st car off the line had the 2+2 option fitted (as opposed to a larger fuel tank). Three people travelled in the car when it was dropped off for its 1st service (2 kids). Unless the factory have decided that it's nolonger available because of their experience with the 1st one?

TVR should be spending their cash on getting their current models even vaguely reliable first.
Not wishing to start the reliablity thread again, but all of mine have been more than acceptably reliable. Used as an every day car and for the last 4 months the T350 parked outside, this mournings temp -4c no probs.
My experience is over 36,000miles in Tuscans, Chims and the T350c. You only get problems as you do with any car if it is not used regularily. Lock anything in a shed for a few weeks then rag it for a day then lock back up and you will get problems.
