that's what I do ofcourse, if you check all my other colour adjustments you will see that. Black is always difficult and I went a bit too dark there.
Refresh the page, I did a slightly lighter version which should be more realistic (black covers up details on real cars too so you can't change that)

The black does not appear that natural without more work done, because lights and reflections are a special in the case of black or white paintwork. FourWheelDrift got pretty close

It looks good allright. But as black? It's lighter than the gunmetal one I did...

Here's a proper shiney black (at last)

Lose some detail though.

I have a guess, how to let that black look a bit more realistic; it's about creating a special layer just for the reflections, since black reflects more from the environment than the grey on the original car - hence, reflection contrasts should be little bit higher.
It's still far away from a real black car though.

You're right, more contrast does make it look more realistic. Pretty much screws up the quality though (e.g. FWD's one is all smudgy).
But thanks for the tip, here's me trying to use it:

Good, but still looks a bit Matt Black though.

The way did mine was, I created a new image of the car in a dark colour, converted the image to greyscale, then turned down the gamma settings and adjusted contrast and brightness before pasting the car onto a fresh background.

Oh and if anyone wonders why we are doing this, for me it's because I don't like what I've seen so far and we are seeing if it looks any better in different colours. I still don't like it though.

Well, then do something to the bodywork to make it look better. Lazy git.

Taking my 03 M3 to sell as deposit for one of these sagaris babies! If it goes as well as it looks, and has more than 222 bhp per ton (M3) then i will be well pleased. Always wanted a sub 10 second to100 car. My Mother will not be amused, but what the hell I am 46! So eat exhaust Mother.!!!!!!!!!

All current TVR's are sub 10 seconds to 60 (with one exception) and the Sagaris will be _much_ quicker than that! I'm sure you'll not be disappointed! I heard the Sagaris will put out around 470hp in supercharged form so you may well double the 222bhp/tonne!
