A LS3 is just over 5K new but please remember all the other things you need
A LS7 is just under 10K
So what would be the total cost of such a conversion?A LS7 is just under 10K
10k??
http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... what I got a ride in at Topcats yesterday!
They say the following:
What is the estimated cost of doing this?
LS conversions start at around £10,000 depending on the specification; this includes a brand new engine, TKO600 gearbox, bell housing, clutch, flywheel, prop shaft, starter motor, power steering, ECU if required, coils, stainless steel manifolds, oil coolers and air filter.
So I guess from that for £10k you would get the LS3 and if you wanted the LS7 it would be considerably more. Also dont forget that you will have to spend more money on brakes, suspension and chassis tweaks to make the car complete.
Saying that though, if you break it down as below .....
T350 - £17k to £22k
LS3 Engine conversion - £10k
Shocks and chassis upgrades - £3k
It seems great value. Who wouldnt want a T350 with an LS engine pumping out a reliable consistent 450HP for £30k to £35k

Nope, not me — my prices start from around £7.5k + VAT inc. a new LS engine.
PS: I should be firing up my first LS T350 this weekend.
What does that £7.5k price include? Please send me an email and/or a contact number and we can have a chat.PS: I should be firing up my first LS T350 this weekend.
Thanks

I'd happily pay several grand more for an LS engined sag.
Have you actually driven a S6-engined Sagaris? Having owned one for over 2 years I'm of the opinion that the S6 suits the character of the car and if my engine goes pop a second time I'll be sticking with the S6.
If you'd asked me when the engine went pop 2 months into ownership I'd have said LS engine too. But now I don't think so.

what would be more difficult to achieve is the appalling build quality and endless reliability issues even if the LS had been thrown together by tots TV it would probably do 20 or 30 times the mileage between rebuilds with 5% of the servicing
also set for this level of performance the LS would us much less fuel and have massively lower emissions

There is no reason why, with the correct cam and ECU map an LSx engine could not produce the same power and torque curve as the old speed 6, therefore drive the same
That's not what I meant. That's like saying a 4-cylinder turbo-nutter Japanese engine is the same as a V8 because they can have the same power. I was saying that the character of the S6 engine suits the Sagaris. It would be a completely different car with the LSx in it. I'm not saying worse, not saying better, just different. That's all.
So for the little slower ones
what were the proposals for a LS7 ( or comparable engine with ca. 500 rwhp and similar lifespan ) conversion including all parts, starter motor, transmission and taxes and work.
As far as I have understood:
offers for such an all inclusive package with a LS3 vary from 14 - 17 k £ ???
What will a LS7 cost?
Does anyone know what a complete SpeedSix 4.0 motor with gearbox and all the parts exchanged in a LS-conversion is worth at the moment?
At least a RedRose one or a "S" spec with ca 20.000 miles.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

You can get a new US LS3 full inclusive package install for around 10/11k if you do your homework and have the cash in your pocket, and installed by top guys as well.though for that price you don't get much more BHP than the S spec S6 (around 400/430) but you do get loads more torque.
Will be interesting to see what Dom's 4.5 S6 is banging out in comparison as it's priced about the same and comes with a 5 year warranty.
