I'm a bit intrigued as to how many people AM employ that end up with their names under your bonnet. Do they just check one model range or do they run from one production line to another with a fistful of plaques eager to assert themselves as chief inspector?

I'll kick it off

V8V

Andrew Gough did my V8V!

This parts list for the V8V: https://www.astonmartintechinfo.com/DocumentUplods...

lists five names for a replacement inspection plate: Mick Moten; Martin Askell; Dean Brittain; Mick Freeman; Andrew Gough.

I'm not sure where to find similar parts lists for other models, would be interesting to see. My bet is that it's the same set of guys for the other higher-volume models, with specialists for perhaps the DBS etc.

My V8 was Martin Askill (I think you have a typo or I'm having a senior moment)

V12 - will have to have a look.

my 2010 V8V roadster was Andrew Gough so he works on V8 & V12

Will see who has done my Vantage S when I pick it up next week

I think pretty much all the workforce do the entire range (apart from the ONE 77) - when you go round the factory they explain the production line is set that day to production of one car type, sometimes I seem to recall specific to one export market (e.g. american vantages that day) that will switch every day/few days. Can someone else confirm if that's my mind playing tricks on me ?

Mick Freeman, 2009 Vantage. I wonder if it would be usefull to track the inspector to cars that had issues. So far mine hasno had any!

Must be a myth, the name 'Gough' isn't aerodynamic enough for the one-77 laugh

Dont worry. Any car built before 1978 didnt get them either. A marketing gimmick thought up by one of the bosses of the time, Alan Curtis

This is a good point as, without naming names, there is at least one PH member on here that had issues on delivery. But what exactly do they inspect? The paint finish? The interior? The engine?

Have a look at the link I gave above - pick a name and get one ordered up, I'd suggest Gough, he seems to be the best wink
