The Definitive Guide to Gaydon-era ASTON MARTIN
Discussion
Chris, unfortunately the same problem exists via the app store, so it's a printed book for now, but we will have a digital version eventually.
Edited to add, as we have flipped over the page I'll include details of the 5th edition again, so others don't have to look back for the info.
This is the new front cover for the 5th edition, which is at the printers and should be with us within the next 2-3 weeks. It has increased in size to 274 pages and expanded to include comprehensive details on the recently launched new V12 Vantage Roadster, Vanquish and 2013MY DB9 - plus many additions and tweaks throughout. Anyone that has recently purchased the 4th edition will receive a "tweaked" PDF update shortly.
I have also included a low resolution copy of the contents -
The books website is the same as before www.astonmartinreview.co.uk
It's an ideal Xmas gift

Hi Grant, I asked for a copy of your excellent guide from father Christmas last year and he duly obliged, after lots of research and looking for the right car I took delivery of a V8 Vantage a couple of weeks back from Stratstone Cardif. Absolutely loving the car, the book was invaluable. If I send you the email address of the person who ordered the book from you, would you be able to send the update? Thanks - Allan
Congrats Alan, glad you are enjoying the new member of your family . If you get a chance to post an image of your new steed in this thread, as well as the main A.M. forum, that would be great I keep meaning to link new cars images back to the guide. No problem with the PDF update, just pop me the details. Cheers - Grant Edited to add, as we have flipped over the page I'll include details of the 5th edition again, so others don't have to look back for the info.

Alan, that is one stunning looking car, congratulations. Is it Lightning Silver (you can never tell from a photo)? It also looks to have some very tasty options, what's the full spec?
Thanks Grant, I am rather chuffed with it.It's a V8 "showcase edition" in Lightning Silver, from what I can understand it has quite a few of the available options. Alarm upgrade, sports pack, cruise, bright finish grill, premium audio, heated memory seats, Black calipers, auto dimming mirror, front parking sensors, Silver meshes, polished tread plates, sat nav and Bluetooth.

Great spec, everything including the kitchen sink and nice to see a "drivers" spec car with the Sport Pack Retman said:
Agreed, one just ordered. Might have to sneak a peek to see what's change before I give it away though.
Good man it should also be compulsory that every Porsche, Fezza and Lamborghini owner gets a copy for Xmas in order to spread the "Aston" word to all triple5 said:
Thanks Grant, I'll send you the details
Only have a pic from when we picked it up at the moment.
Congrats, I just sold mine with the same spec.Only have a pic from when we picked it up at the moment.
The 'Polished Plates' look great, but would suggest you 3M coat them for durability (Found my passenger side has some slight marks from shoes, had it polished out and then applied the 3M)
Enjoy the car.
PS - That colour takes amazing pictures, so always have a camera handy!

Thanks a lot, yes the colour is amazing and changes depending on the light conditions. The 'Polished Plates' look great, but would suggest you 3M coat them for durability (Found my passenger side has some slight marks from shoes, had it polished out and then applied the 3M)

Did you sell it to Stratstones in Cardiff? as I just missed out on one exactly the same.
The plates do have a few marks, will be attempting to sort those out at some point, 3M is a good idea.

My older car was actually the Lightning Silver featured in Grant's Guide.
Your correct about the colour - When I first got my car, the number one question from friends was, "Is that the same car you had a few weeks ago?"
Once again Congrats - mine might be gone, but not forgotten!

Hi Grant - after much hinting to family I got the latest edition of your book for Christmas. Fantastic book that must take a lot of time and effort to write and update Thanks!
Cheers for the feedback Rich, yup it does take up a lot of time but Aston's are a great subject to cover, lovely black V8 Roadster by the way.. happy New Year to you and yours.kelk said:
Just ordered a copy from Amazon - hopefully I'll be getting my Aston in the first half of 2012 and I've actually been putting off buying this book so that I didn't get frustrated with having to wait for the car. When this arrives it's going to feel that one step closer, can't wait
Thanks Chris, looking for the ideal beast is part of the fun, I'm sure the guide will help you to find the right car/model/spec. Looks like 2013 is going to be a good year for you, best of luck with the search CliffAML said:
Just received the book - can't put it down. Automotive porn. Love it!
Maybe we should change the title to 50 Shades of Silver congrats on joining the exclusive DB9 club, you have heard about keeping up with the Joneses, best not look at Rob and Molly's garage cardigankid said:
Brilliant book, read it from cover to cover over the festive break.
Thanks CardiganK, the feedback is much appreciated, particularly from a Pisonhead's heavyweight ( not literally ) with over 5800 posts Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
