Just read the "bored after 1 month with a V8V" and still none the wiser.
Wrong thread. They meant this one where the OP regrets not being able to fit his kids in. Then decides he probably couldn't in a DB9 anyway!

As one who purchased a DB9 after persuading myself that my kids would squeeze into the back seats I can only say that you will probably regret it.

I had mine for a month then chopped it in for a V8V and the Range Rover for family time.

Back seats are a total waste of time and imo the DB9 just feels so much of an older mans car wink

They are in my village and know the guys well. Done work for them many times. To be fair to john, he only buys quality motors and they do know their astons.

They will soon to be offering servicing too.
Interesting to hear they will soon be offering servicing.

I agree with the comment about John only buying good cars, mine has turned out to be a good 'un and all the other cars I looked at whilst wandering around looked very good as well.

I'd happily buy from them again.

Does this mean that they will refuse to buy cars that they themselves have serviced?! wobble

The DB9 users will see this as an opportunity to get more knee blankets in the boot. Or in Jockmans case more blue slippers. biggrin

I just think that at least with the DB9 I have made a small attempt at considering my sprog.
i kicked off the "get rid after 1 month" thread. it was my conscience doing the typing. i actually took my wife and daughter to stratstone wilmslow to see if we could all get into a db9. being of bangladeshi descent, we all outwardly appear to have some oompa loompa about us - my wife and i are around 5'6 and my daughter is about 3'- but that's probably because she's 4 (rather than heritage or what we feed her). i should also say that my wife's slender curves, long neck and tight legs give her the appearance of height which is something that i do certainly appreciate about her...anyway. i got my daughter in but, in hindsight it was a complete squeeze. thus bought the v8v and then started to wonder if i should've bought the db9 anyway and over the weeks forgot how tight it was for my daughter. anyway, having been reminded by the other members here and essentially reminding myself, i've concluded that getting a db9 would have been worse for my relationship with my family, as in "why the heck did you buy a car with such crappy back seats" versus "oh, you have no back seats. you're stupid. lets take the 4x4".

So girls are quite taken by your various courtesy cars then? wink
Actually - in a completely unscientific sample, the female of the species prefers the Aston Martin to every other car I have driven, test driven or considered for a test drive. Which includes various 911s, SL63 AMG, F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley, ML63 AMG and probably a few others I have forgotten.

Due to my charitable nature I will not hit you with one of any number of jocular retorts possible ;-)

Instead I will suggest that you sit back and enjoy the car and the girl and be happy!

McGurks are a reputable and well-respected firm.

I don't deal with them because, according to their website, they only entertain Astons with full Dealer service histories - no Indy Specialists allowed.

I have a good friend (customer too) in Telford who bought a DB7 GT from them a couple of years ago and had a very good customer experience smile
Dear All,

Firstly thanks for the positive feedback it's really great!
Regarding the "Main Dealer" history I felt it important to press upon the public how particular we are about our cars and as you will appreciate it's a tough thing to do via the net. Most of the forum people know more about cars than the some dealers and those people have a different view on cars, the rest of the general public don't know and want the security. That said.........
My frustrations have come to boiling point as the service I receive from the main dealers is not only poor but expensive and I'm looking at the quality of work I'm getting for the cost and I decided that I could do a better job! I have invested in all the equipment from Aston Martin and I have a direct line of parts from the factory, the toughest task was to find the right people which after a long time of looking I am happy to say I now have(from the factory!). It's all new at the moment but by the end of the year I will be shouting about it.
Looks like I will have to change the website next!? Please pass on my best regards to S.T.

Kind Regards

John McGurk

Will be having some lunch with Symon soon - he always speaks highly of you and your company. Looks like Token Jock and others feel the same.

If you adjust your website to include those of us who use the Indy Specialists as a more bespoke way of looking after their P&Js, and you may well get a few new customers John. smile

Just visited McGurks today and very impressed by the condition of the cars.
Bit claustrophobic for viewing but in general top quality merchandise.
Thanks for all your help on this one particular subject.
Still screwed on the DB9 Volante versus V8V roadster. The Black V8V they have in stock looks gorgeous.
If anyone knows what type of wheels they are and where you get them please let me know for future reference.
ps The rear seats are small on the DB9 but I feel child friendly for a 30min journey if your wife has shortish legs.
