Anyone traveling down from the East Midlands tomorrow? I'm heading out down the M1, M42, M40, setting out about 7.30 if anyone fancies some company?

Sorry Yeti - my plus 1 and I are going to have to drop out. Work issues mean I have to bring a work trip to India forward so can't make it. Looking at earlier post, this would free up 2 spots for anybody on standby. Have fun.
I've informed AM - you aren't the only ones either and there are no reserves sadly so places have gone empty and too late to sort anything out. Hey ho, 23 is still a good amount!

Just got back from the factory tour. A brilliant morning that makes me appreciate the car I have even more now.

Thank you very much Yeti for organising this, good work.

Echo the above, a good morning out and great to see the detail and quality of the components going into our toys.

Much appreciated for organising. smile

yes much enjoyed the tour, especially feeling how light and frictionless the carbon propshaft and torque tube were. Beautiful cars, beautifully made.

many thanks to all I've been wanting to visit the factory for some time now.

all this stuff about Aston being out of date in the press is such nonsense. Yes in some regards their wealthier competitors have the 3.2 electronics or whatever whereas Aston is still on version 3.0 but really it's just splitting hairs. What matters is how much you like driving your car, how much you like looking at it and how much you enjoy owning it. On these three scores Aston Martin is still the company to beat for me.

cheers

Top day out, thanks for organising, Yeti!

The missus and I have been talking on the way back and we're thinking about swapping the 4.7 for a Cobalt V8VS in the new year.

I just knew this would be an expensive trip...

Great day out but would not mind going again when the line is in full flow. Tried to get vin no for a V12V on the line, might have been 1029, cannot be sure.

One observation about Gaydon. The shop was naff. You would have thought that with the mass affluent traipsing through their dors day after day they would have a wider range of goods available. There is not a single leather jacket at shop or online. Missing an opportunity. By the way I am 50 today. Got an Aston hoodie (only one in shop that fitted) cuff links and the missus bought me the reg V12V CB. Awesome.

Thanks to Yeti & JohnG1 for organising the trip - I was torn between visiting B-R or the Heritage Museum - I went to the museum - and was pleasantly surprised, especially as the first thing you see on entering is the prototype V12 Vantage smile
