Phil - do you have any numbers to back up my assumptions on the USA numbers?
Adam - up to vin S01000 there were 154 US supplied cars. I have identified a further 33 cars up to S01258 and the latter cars have been special editions of 40 cars, either Satin/Azurite or Carbon black. I still have lots of gaps over S01115 though so there may be more.

Meanwhile with no more new orders on V12V being accepted, AML have once again turned something into a disaster un-necessarily. Instead of upsetting all those who bought V12V on the basis there would only be 1,000 made and then dropping the pledge, they could have given a different designation to those sold in America (which was never initially planned as being a market for this car) and kept the 1,000 pledge for European Homologated markets......the devil is in the detail !

Spoken to 2 dealers in recent weeks about V12V and they've said there's an option to buy a new one. Has this changed?

Great thanks - so on that basis there are definately <1000 cars if you exclude USA, so in effect AM did actually honor the original limit for the markets they intended at the time.

In definitely know of one new one in a dealer showroom. I was also shown that no orders would be taken for new builds.

same as I was told - there's always new ones about but for factory orders, a bulletin came out a few days ago saying no more

phew, takes away that temptation. Thought I was definitely going to a V12V next, but the SP10 has really got me tempted... Much cheaper than a new V12V, so man maths mean I'm really just saving money if I buy a SP10!

SP10, along with DB9, are the first Astons in a while that are finally sensibly priced

It doesn't help the value for anyone who has bought a V8 vantage of any description in the last few yrs of course....

Having said that, you can buy a near as dammit new V12V coupe for 110kish - I see there's a carbon black one with full leather (but regular seats), Jan 2013, 475 miles, up for around £113k IIRC

So that has to be a good buy too, especially as one has to assume it won't do any harm to residuals of all V12VS when the impact of no more being made starts to have an effect later this year - once you can't buy a new or nearly new one for 110-120, one would hope 2nd hand values stabilize

Of course what, if any, replacement for V12V transpires will potentially have some effect too but if it's the end of manual, I guess like 997 GT3 & RS models, 12 months from now we will see steady values as it's regarded as a last of an era type car

Am I allowed on here, as a lowly 4·7 owner?

Once again Jonby, I cannot disagree with any of your comments.

It is fascinating when depreciation is discussed by Aston Martin owners.
I treat ownership as an enjoyable priviledge, and an indulgence, so enjoy the car and try to forget any financial implications.

I would assume that AML will have to build a car to replace the V12V.
What might the performance be, if say the Vanquish engine was installed?
Might a 200 mph top speed be possible?

MODEL POWER 0-62mph Top Speed
V8V 420bhp 4.7 sec 180 mph
V12V 510bhp 4.2 sec 190 mph
Vanquish 565bhp 4.1 sec 183 mph

temptation might return with the Centenary V12V... though I'm sure even the man maths will struggle with that one as it'll be a lot more expensive than a practically new "standard" one.

If the V12V is now out of production, surely there won't be any centenary version now.

Told on good authority there will. Skyfall silver gradient option, black wheels, premium leather. Same mechanical spec.

Hi Phil,

Great job you have going here. You'd better add me to the list:

Chassis (last 3 digits, well make it four) ... 1315
Reg (incl previous reg if applicable) ... V12SKW
Colour 1 (ie blue) ... Black
Colour 2 (ie Mako) ... Onyx
Country (UK/USA/Germany/Australia etc) ... UK
Notes - any other useful info you may have on your car ... Lightweights (black leather), piano black all the way down, alcantara wheel, glass switches, black callipers, ...

First reg Sep 2013. Is it one of the last?!

Also have details on another car (Ceramic Grey #1284) which went before I had a chance to look at it. Let me know if you need them.

All the best,

Steve (skwidgy)

Coincidently a similar thread running on the AMOC site which states that the last V12V built had a VIN ending 1376 but it does not say which market it was built for. That comes from the Trust's Registrar so will be accurate.

Congratulations on getting your car you will absolutely love it!

Congratulations - are there many Astons (or V12V) in Chile?

Any pictures to share?

We have an official Aston Martin dealer here since 2010, and direct imports from USA a couple of years before that (www.astonmartinsantiago.cl). From what I have been told they sell like 20 cars a year (new and used), there is actually 1 one77 here in Chile.

Regarding the V12V, I have seen like 5 beside mine, in page 16 of this thread there is a bar graph that states there are around 10 V12V's in Chile.

Steve, Ian and Pablo,
Thanks for the info which is very useful indeed. I'll reply in more detail shortly when I can access my Register.

Steve - I need both 1284 and 1315. Do you have the dealer pdf spec sheets on these? Any photos of yours and 1284 would be great!

Ian - do you have a linky to the amoc thread? I was thinking there would not be many more numbers of V12V's as production had ceased. In fact, the V12VS's photographed this summer and on the Internet have vins prior to 1376 so some overlap there.

Pablo - I was starting to think your car had fallen off the boat as I'd not heard from you, although when you take delivery of a V12V it does somewhat take over things!

When I've updated the Register with these 3 cars I'll post up a summary of where I'm up to.
I'm at last starting to make progress identifying EU cars so this is helping populate the Register, although EU dealers really are very difficult to get vins out of!!

Back soon....
Phil
