I bought mine with a full year AM warranty & am still more than happy with the car wink
^^^^this^^^^ I was chatting to the guy who who runs the press garage the other day. He said you wouldn't believe how well the cars are maintained yes

I am also seriously considering the masagascar orange car from aston martin works. Great spec. What are your opinions on resale, will the colour harm it?
It's been up for sale at AMW for over a year. You decide.

(Plenty on here love it though. You will break several hearts if you buy it).
And guess what, that was also a press car. As a 2013 model I imagine it got less abuse by journalists than a 2009 one though. So it has two factors which have so far prevented it from selling - press car and colour. However, as has been said, the factory cars get very well maintained, many love the colour (including me), the spec is superb and the price is now good. If my wife hadn't vetoed the colour I would have bought it 2 months ago.
Are you sure about that? I am told it is NOT a press car, but is spec'd very similar to a press car at the time and thus has been confused for the press car. I think this may add to the delay in selling it...

Many people on here prefer to play safe and only buy Astons in grey or black, thus limiting the appeal and saleability of other colours. However if you love the colour go for it as it will make you happier than owning a car in a colour you don't really like.

Works weren't the only ones offered it. No dealer wanted it. Lots of people on here say they love the colour but no one has bought it.
Its a colour people could get bored of very quickly

I love that orange colour. WS tried to sell it at over £106K at one point which was way overpriced compared to the market and then they gradually reduced the price, but it is still over priced given the colour and mileage. The car has B&O and lightweight seats and I'm sure the price is reflecting those options being there.

If that car was up at £90K it would probably go tomorrow.

I would have thought that would be a fair offer, or would they not take that much off?

WS seem resistant to offers but of course it all depends on how much the car owes them. I spoke to them about that car and they had recently sold a V8V in Madagascar Orange and so they were bullish about selling the V12V. That was three months ago and I saw the car there at £106K about a year ago.

They may consider an offer though as it isn't sending out a positive message to those who may be considering a non-grey/non-black Aston but are worried about resale if WS can't even sell one.

Well, Simon the salesman at works, assured me it was a press car and talked about the pros (very well maintained etc.) versus the cons (thrashed by journos). I doubt he would risk the aversion most buyers feel to it being a press car if it weren't.

That green interior may get a bit much after a while plus there are nicer greens IMHO. Might be why it is still for sale.

I went today and drove a v12v 11/61 and an 10/60 dbs manual. What fantastic cars both of them. The v12v is louder and angrier and feels more immediate whereas the dbs a little softer but still an experience to drive. Really torn now. Loved both. Which should hold its value better from here on in??

Your opinions/expeeiences would be much appreciated!

I haven't driven a DBS but my V12V is just right for me. For some the suspension is a bit firm which means a hard ride but it gives the car a "Drivers" edge to it. I'm biased but I suggest that the V12V will hold its value better. Moving on from a V12V to a DBS seems a popular move and perhaps is the way to go? I cant see many going the other way.

I believe the prices of lower mileage manual DBS's have risen over the last 12 months. I have no interest in talking prices up as mine is earmarked for my son who is currently 2 years old. It is simply my observation from watching the classifieds.

Myself and a Getoff with a V12V went out together at Snetterton (to dick about as he put it) and there was nothing innit although I guess in the hands of a professional the V12V would be quicker.

Finally at Le Mans this year several of us from here went out hooning every morning on some pretty bumpy roads. A mixture of DBS and V12V cars only. I know which was the more comfortable wink

My V12V was very comfortable as I have ample bottom padding biggrin

The worst thing was the jittery handling over the bumpy bits.
