A vote here for clears, but no worries as the reds look great anyway.

Seeing as you'e got a manual, you're obviously a real driver. Put the £1200 you save on the lights towards a Sports Pack set up wink

Welcome james, that looks stunning, great photos, considering they are from a phone.
Manual DB9 is pretty rare, so great to see, especially with the the Tony's knobs upgrades.
No doubt you've worked out by now that we are friendly bunch thst will take the piss but provide advice and technical assitance as and when you need it.
Word of advice though, as you've got a manual DB9 ignore all posts from 'Yeti' - if you follow his advice on Db9 enhancements it will cost you a fortune! wink

Are you on about modifying?

I'm seriously considering some performance upgrades to my Polo. Never modified anything before, but they will be strictly performance related and so you can't tell from any other angle. I can get it from 180bhp to 240ish with relative ease (turbo-back exhaust, remap and induction kit), is quite tempting.

Do you never have any issues with warranty or reliability after your upgrades?

What reliability ?? Is this the car you've sent back a zillion times since you had it ??

Upgrades couldn't possibly make it less reliable smile

Well it's been back 13 or 14 times since June last year. Finally sorted now though biggrin

Upgrades might make it less reliable, but I don't fancy paying if something does go wrong because the warranty wont cover it. Or I wouldn't want to lose a lot of money on resale.

That looks great, really nice colour. Clear right lights would just finish that off I think smile

My car is the same Titanium Silver, and thought about clear rear lights, but when I looked at silver cars with them I actually prefer the red lights, as it adds a splash of colour.
So is mine and I also prefer the original red lights.

Thanks for the welcomes - looking forward to contributing to the place and perhaps seeing some of you around at any meets etc.

To all the clear light lovers, I'm afraid they're not my cup of tea - I've always preferred the classic DB9 look with the coloured lights so I intend to keep mine as they are smile

Congratulations on your car. I must say I am very jealous that you are able to insure it for a reasonable price - I am 23 and I can't even get a decent quote on a Mk2 GTI (also zero NCB). Good choice of gearbox too, enjoy in good health!

I've already put a lot of thought into the sports pack - best part of £7000 dealer retro fit right? I am quite open to doing something, maybe in a year or so - Can you get the sports pack without those lightweight 5 double-spoke alloys? I like my car how it is, and particularly don't like those sport pack alloys.

I presume so, the brakes aren't changed so the existing wheels will still fit perfectly. The only benefit is a reduction in unsprung mass I presume.

It would probably knock a fair chunk off the £7k if you don't change the wheels too smile
