RE: DBR9 Racer!
Discussion
Ahh, so thats what it is then...
Saw one today, oddly enough going around the Aston Martin test track.... sadly I was in a building at the time with someone talking to me so only got a fleeting glimpse. I did wonder what it was - looking very bland with the paint scheme but the profile was the same.
I'll have another look tomorrow - from outside this time!

Shooting a car costs lots of time and lots of space: so lots of money better spent elsewhere. It's so easy to PhotoShop. I been around in industrial design and I saw some real 3d miracles. This 'artist' had a bad day or a blind art director I guess.
The car is a wonder. Semi sidepipes. Streetversion svp . . .

It is a virtual rendering but a real development version of the car does exist at Pro-Drive. Personally I think it looks like a pretty ghastly Max power attempt with that front bumper.
I agree, too big wheels and a laxxer front bumper. Veilside do kits like this. The DB9 on the other hand is the only way to spend £100k.
A bit controversial I know, but I hate it
The standard DB9 is one of the most beautiful cars ever made - the DB4 GT Zagato, Project 212, 214, 215, or DBR1 being at the top of the list - but this just looks a bit OTT. I hope the real thing looks more harmonious.
I am sure it will be bloody fab to drive whatever it looks like

Not sure about the yellow lipstick though - makes it look like a bit of a slapper!
Yellow lipstick
Can it have yellow...?
I thought it always used to be yellow for Lotus and orange for BRM?
Having said that I'd been toying with the idea of some yellow for the Griff (if I ever get aournd to sorting the stone chipped nose).

I agree with this comment...when I first saw the picture..I thought wow and then after taking a closer look I thought it isn't quite right for me. I think the DB9 should be left well alone IMHO. Standard car for me....In black.

Let's not forget these revisions are for racing purposes, unlike the Veilside bodykits that are there simply to get the pulses of teenage boys racing
On the contrary, its a styling exercise to publicise their intention to race and possibly to divert attention from the (probably unwarrented) drubbing it received in Evo this month.
Yes, it's a styling excercise to show what a RACING version of a DB9 is likely to look like.
And I'd be suprised if it's got anything to do with diverting attention away from Evo's article. Although I don't suppose it'll hurt
At the end of the day, styling is a subjective matter. To me, a road-going Aston will never need a wild bodykit to get attention as they are already the best looking cars on the planet (IMO)
However, (some) Jap cars do look impressive with wild kits, although again that's subjective. I prefer the pretty standard look of my 300ZX.

That wont be the DBR9 as the only prototype is at Pro-Drive, sounds like you either saw one of the baby V8's or the new high powered Vanquish.

Yup, it is indeed my all time favourite. The shape is the most stunning piece of design I've seen. Maybe one day if I win the lottery.....
This is the most beautiful Aston there is and I salute your fantastic taste! When the piccy on Shady's post came up, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck! It is quite astonishing how cars can do that isn't it?
(Ed, hang on to this girl, she may have expensive taste but she is a very classy lady! )
