I follow a similar routine for mine, although i have a reduced version for the weekly/fortnightly wash. Because i wanted a good base to start from, I had swissvax do a paint correction and detail after buying it. Its much easier for me to keep up to it now. The wax on mine is crystal rock wax from swissvax, its a little more expensive than best of show but its excellent.

My neighbours think I am mental... they rib me for taking more care of the car than my wife!
I think i have said in a previous post somewhere on here or detailing forum, I have often been tempted to snowfoam and wax the wife... Pictures have already been requested! :-)

Snowfoam is a sod to get off the drive! Its like shaving foam and I have found it best to brush it down the drive and leave it in a pile where rainwater naturally drains.. it gradually disapears but it take a LOOONG time. :-)

BUMP!

Francis, would you recommend any other wax apart from Swissvax. I am being a tight arse and don't want to spend 135 quid on tiny tub

I spent the whole day yesterday prepping and applying Dodo Juice Infinity Paint Sealent which I'm guessing is a similar product to 22ple. Off to the factory in the stty weather tomorrow, so I'll post up how it performs. We'll see........

Thank you. A very helpful article.

I diagnose your OCD as being under control.
You did not remove the road wheels, to polish the insides. smile

You're confusing me with someone that actaully did all the work and knows what they are talking about.

Yes, sorry Neil.

I read your topic title, 'How I clean my Aston' and then your initial words 'Being an OCD sufferer', but failed to realise that you had not done the cleaning.

My own OCD is now untreatable. There are no marks on the outside of my wheels, but there must be a few tar spots on the inside. I suppose I will first have to find a trolley jack with a low lift point. Someone suggested Costco.

It is (sort of). There's a link to it in the FAQ (which is a sticky).

Hiya Neil,

I'm having problems trying to get a good shine from my front grill, have used chrome polish to no avail. Can I confirm you are suggesting a All Metal polish for this job??

I don't ever remember having to clean my grill with anything except car shampoo, then drying and waxing as per the rest of the car. One thing to remeber is to clean / dry the underside of each slat as it can reflect onto the lower slat and look like its marked. I know others have had badly marked / stained grills, which end up being replaced. Paddy 328 (Feancis) our detailer on here my have more input as he did all the 'modelling' for this topic.

I think the previous owner of my car was very lazy as my grill has water stains upper and lower, bit of a bugger trying to shift them. Car shampoo & polish not working well :-(

To be honest, I think there will be nothing you can do about it I'm afraid.

if the stain is lime scale residue the try some vinegar to dissolve the stain...
It will take a few aplications with the cloth soaked vinegar..
