yes do have a px - An AM dealer has given a Cap value of between 12500 to 13500 and wbac 13300 so working on 13000 as the px and putting in the rest. But if their sticker is 60 how likely are they to come down a bit?

or put it another way - has anyone had a reduction in the sticker price for a used DB9 at around the 56 to 60 mark? and if so small etc?

Thanks - cant wait to get a DB9 !!
Minimum I would go is 45 k to change on a 60k car with that level of px. DB9 is a fabulous car.

Tricky. I bought my car and paid the full ticket price knowing I was getting top whack on my px (V8V). Its all about the amount to change really. If the dealer is to be believed they actually lost money on my V8V which does not suprise me given what they paid, what they advertised it for and what needed doing to it. He was happy however that he had got me into a DBS. As has been said before on here some dealer cars only have a couple of grand profit in them. Good luck with your search smile
Im hoping for 1k off the sticker price of 60k and the 13k px Heck - I got 1.5k off my pork turbo a few years back and I thought they played hard ball ! Anyway Im keeping it all fun as we all have to make a living. smile

Lovely car - priced about right.

Now you are in the zone with the Dealer, with only 2k here or there, start thinking of additional features you would like that would cost the Dealer much less to add on..... eg clear rears would cost the dealer a fraction of the 1100 you would save. RFL is too blunt an instrument as it costs you both the same.

Start playing with the margins smile

Just a thought. It might be worth starting a new thread with that link in the main body (not the title) as someone on here may know the car or be happy to pop down and have a nose for you. Just a thought mind

The average profit margin before costs for a main dealer is 15% most dealers will clear 3 to 8k per car

From dealer: We have just reduced the price of this car to 59950 and this makes it very good value and is attracting a few enquiries again all of a sudden. The ownership to date is Two it was firstly owned by Aston Martin then a private owner.

Anything to be concerned or consider with AM owning it first?

Or a dealer demo? Do they have AM as the first owner?

There are two views on ex press cars:-
1. They are a good deal - AM look after them really well, service them everytime they come back in, any faults are fixed.
2. Are you mad? They've been thrashed within an inch of their lives! Watch Top Gear, 5th Gear etc and see how much the cars are abused. And thats just what they show on screen.

If you think 1. above, and you come to sell will most people think 2.

I would expect a discount for an ex press car vs the average for the market, but thats just my personal view.

That does sound very much like a sales trick - make you think you might lose it to spur you on a bit. My take with cars has always been to offer Lower than what you actually are prepared to pay. Have your cheque book or Card in plain view when you do so. If they say no, hum and hah a bit and offer what you are prepared to pay, if they still say no, makes a point of putting your cheque book/card away. This is a visual problem to the salesman - now you are the one indicating the salesperson is going to lose something. If they still do not flicker, walk away. You can always go back in, immediately or later. If they let you walk out then it's an indication you are not being ripped off at or near that price.

Worked with my V8V, I got a huge discount because I walked out and suggested I was going to look elsewhere. They phoned me about 2 weeks later to accept my offer.

Also worked with 3 BMW cars, a Merc and even a Nissan.

The psychology of a sale is quite interesting and one of the best ways to make somebody jump into buying is to indicate they might lose the chance of buying it. You have the money, it's a buyers a market for large cars. Happy hunting smile

Well, I've had my "previously owned by AM" V8V for a year now and have been very happy with it. If you buy on condition I don't see a "KX" car as being any more or less of an issue than a normal previous owner one, especially if it comes with a warranty.

Im not worried about lots of interest, I do a similar 'sales' patter for houses wink but its the first owner as AM which Im unsure over what it means - as said is it a press car or just a demo pre reg car?
