Hello all! My first post here. I'm in the US and just took delivery of a 2007 V8 Vantage yesterday. It has the premium sound system and factory Bluetooth. When I got home with it, I noticed that the passenger side door speakers were not working. Panic sets in... How do I tell my wife I just bought an expensive car with a broken stereo system...

So I found this thread, went out to my car, and started pounding on the passenger side floorboard - and the speaker started working again! At least for a while. More pounding = speakers all work for a while. Seems pretty clear it's the Bluetooth problem.

I will never use the Bluetooth features. How can I obtain or build a bypass harness? It seems like everyone here is in Europe? Can anyone offer the new guy some help? Or should I just buy a new switcher module from the dealer?

The audio system sounds fantastic when it is working correctly. Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Jeff

Welcome to the forum, Jeff.

A fault discovered one day after purchase, would become the responsibility of the dealer, here in the UK.
Consumer law.
Is that situation similar in the USA?

You should now be enjoying your new car, not taking it to pieces.

Well, the car is 8 years old and was purchased "as-is". Here in the USA that means you are on your own unless there was a material misrepresentation. When I got the car everything worked. As soon as you drive away it becomes your responsibility.

In any case, it's a several hours drive to the dealer. It would just be easier for me to fix this myself.

You may as well just replace the relay rather than permanently fit the by pass or when you sell it the buyer may question why the Bluetooth does not work;)

Just talked to my dealer. They are willing to help me out with the new switcher box. They are an AM dealer and they've never heard of this problem before.
