Carbon Fibre Emotion Control Unit
Discussion
Finally built mine yesterday.
Fitted the pin badge first - I just drilled the case and then bonded the pin from the inside and super glued from the outside.
Then followed the comprehensive instructions (well apart from giving the transponder a bit of help with a craft knife!).
I had already bought a couple of spare keys just in case something went wrong and may still get one of them coded to the car so I have another spare. I may also cut the spare case down to see if I can get the rubber buttons bonded to work with the carbon key as that would be just perfect.
Once assembled I went to the car to test and nothing . A few flashing lights and a few clicks. Then looked at the battery conditioner as the car hasn't moved since before Xmas and some idiot (probably me ) had switched it off .
Left on charge overnight and now works perfect .

I still have a handful left to sell from the next (and final) batch that will arrive by the end of this month.
Just PM me to reserve one.
And, yes, I will finally have a look at the Volvo one this week !

Clutching at straws here, but have you posted the late feb batch yet ? I only ask because I've missed a parcel from DHL and I can't for the life of me figure out what it might be...........Just PM me to reserve one.

Did mine today. Drilled a hole for the enamel pin badge. Cut half the pin off, glued. Followed all the instructions and voila 30 minutes later a great CF key. Works like a dream and looks cool too. Its the key AML should have supplied in the first place..not sure what happens when the battery runs out though as the bonded metal side pieces now hold the key together..still its not a problem to worry about today.

Thanks Gdc ! I am really pleased it all went well and that you like it.The great positive feedback has really been worth the effort :-)
For those waiting for theirs in the very last batch. It is progressing and you should have received an email from me today.
If you are interested in one, just PM me as I have a handful left to allocate.

Good news, I have finally received the final batch of 15 carbon fibre ECUs today.
So for those waiting for their CFRP ECUs, it should be ready within the next 2 weeks (that's the time it last took me for prepping 15 cases in parallel).
I have a few left to be allocated, so if you fancy one, it will be your last chance as I am not doing anymore after that.

Right... time for the Volvo fob unit now - about time, I know.
Since this one does not have to fit into a tight hole in the car, I have designed a more simple cover that will simply fit around the original case.
I will get quotes next week.
For this one, for the buttons I will use carbon with weaved colours to distinguish them : carbon with blue or red stitching. And texalium as well as for the ECUs.
(see last picture)
Please find pictures of the proposed design below. Please PM me if you are interested.
Also, let me have your feedback as I can change the design before we start making any moulds.
