After seeing how seriously you take a mere scone, how do you go on with fish and chips? Are you one of those poncey southeners who thinks its sacrilege to have peas/gravy/curry sauce on? tongue out
Your 'mere' scone will be the centrepiece of our wedding, thank you very much! Afternoon tea is a very important thing for people who weren't born in the shadow of the dark satanic mills (i.e. you northern, knuckle-dragging lot)

I am also having mini fish and chips as one of my canapes smile

Peas with fish and chips are good... but why would you put gravy or curry sauce on the fish? Just chips on their own, of course yes

You're not doing a lot to help the 'southern fairies' stereotype wink

We'll try it both ways (steady Rob) next weekend and I'll demonstrate the error of your ways!
Gloucestershire born & mostly lived in Herefordshire - when did either of those counties become classed as Northern?!? As a geologist, for some reason, I would have expected your geographic knowledge to have been somewhat better than that! Not that there's anything wrong with being a northerner, bearing in mind our destination this w/end whistle

Scone wars? Bring it on biggrin

Yeti, I'm I sensing correctly that you have very little else to do today? Forum as of 5 minutes ago looked like this (nearly a full house of yeti replies!)...

I would have thought you would be outside valeting your car, ready for the weekend smile

It's gathering dust nicely underground, should be suitably filthy by the weekend. The last time it was cleaned was at Hever I think, by poor old Pommehogster (who if he is reading this, I WILL CALL YOU THIS AFTERNOON!).

Hope it starts on Saturday eek

I'm supposed to be in a meeting, but will probably strangle the guy if I go, so I won't as it's not 'PC' to strangle people anymore. HSE rolleyes

Hence sitting at my desk with a freshly made coffee, a bacon roll (with extra bacon as I smiled at the bacon-roll-girl), enjoying my view across London and typing my usual nonsense on here smile
