All smiles now, but psycho and mini-psycho are a scary sight in one's rearview miror !!!

A couple of glue-sniffers tried to gatecrash the run out biggrin

Hi guys and girls
Got back home at 7.30 after a very rainy run down the A17 from Grantham to Kings Lynn. 670 miles(inc going via Trinity on Saturday) lost count of fuel stops and service stations that we have visited this weekend!

Big thanks to Mike for taking the reins and organising yet another great Astonaut outing.
Was good to meet up with all the usual suspects and be able to put some new faces to the names. Long may it continue smile
Have seen a new side to Jockers this weekend - not only did He lead a group back on track after a minor detour but it was at a very reasonable pace driving and the other thing that impressed... His generosity - 228gate !! Even the staff at breakfast were amused as Nick, Jamie and I all replied when asked " what room number is it Sir? " "228" was the unanimous reply hehe
What lovely people we met in the hotel car park - the lady and her young son were really grateful to the generosity of the Astonauts for giving him a ride. Well done you guys

See you all soon

Tony

Molly, Purdey and I home safely despite the loonies on the M1. The way people drive is really quite alarming!

Mike thanks so much for organising a truly great day. Roll on the next one.

Great cars, great people, great friends.

I fear Molly is about to post something, be warned, we stopped for some dinner as a consequence she has had some wine if you know what I mean!!

It was great to see Britney again today.......and those boots she was wearing........

By the way, I believe Rob & Molly owe the Talbot a couple of new windows after the noise they made upon departure yes

An inadvertent geriatric Britney minus the blond hair & ponytails! I've never worn that outfit before & probably never will again!

We're we noisy when we left? Thank heavens for hill-assist facility on the S - smooth wink

Start contrast to the weekend having that miserable drive back from Derby, averaged 40mph in the rain frown

What a great couple of days otherwise, great food and company and a lovely drive with perfect weather when it mattered most. Wish I'd had lunch in that pub, food looked good biggrin Rob and Molly's car sounds nearly as good as mine... Nearly wink

Mr 'theTees'... What did you expect me to look like? confused

Jockman don't mention those boots, you should see what they have done to our mattress.

Sorry about the noise when we left. Britney was driving, I was too scared to reprimand her in case she threatened to throw the camera out of the window again

regarding the noise on our departure

Let's be clear - I've never thrown a camera out of a window. It was the only threat I could think of to slow Rob down when that old red mist was descending (the one that makes him go faster) this afternoon on the moors!

Just one disappointment today - & I would have thought b4rnst4ple ŵould have had this sorted (after all he managed the exclusive parking & staff meet & greet at The Talbot this afternoon) - where was James Martin? AKA James Bond Aston Martin. The ladies were all hoping to meet him!

Just as I was about to pull out of the car park that Maserati came down from the top car park & I thought the main man was arriving - but no - just another punter. I told him he was outnumbered & he replied that, his car being Italian, he surrendered

If James Martin's reading this Mhairi says you've blown your chance - don't be surprised if she's washing hair when you call...

Mike what a top chap you are for organising such a splendid weekend. As has been said great to catch up with everyone and to meet some fab new peeps biggrin No idea of round trip mileage but who gives a toss, us lot bought them to drive them not look at them. Moosey seemingly still loves me as roast chicken dinner on the table as I walked in smile I am a lucky chap. Can't wait for the next one.

P.S. Mike you are fighting well above your weight wink

Bettys is nice - had a run up there last year

Somewhow missed this thread as im not that far away, in NE Notts/Sth yorks border a few miles away

some lovely roads for sure, im a few mile off Lincs border and usually head East or North for a run out on a Sunday smile

have fun, will keep an eye out for you on my travels this weekend
From that description you could be my next door neighbour. Agreed some good roads around here just not quite up to Wales standards though, see how North Yorkshire compares tomorrow!
I guess so - im a about 1/2 between Gainsborough and Retford just off the A620. 3 miles to Lincs border and about 6 miles off Sth Yorks border...with a lincs phone number, Yorks postcode and Notts address smile
Substitute Bawtry for Gainsborough and pretty much ditto the rest.

Well thought I had been on the same weekend as you lot but not so sure now. Rubbish hotel, shocking meal, awful company, no 'through the wall' overnight entertainment in our room and as for the cars.......... Think I'd best put our names down for the next one - just to make sure it can't get any worse you understand. Cheers one and all thumbup

Amazing what a DB9 can do (see Karen for further proof).
