Yes but on something as common as a DBS 007 plates are allowed surely? Yeti, did you get my mail yet?

Congrats on getting the only Aston in the range that is demonically possessed - a bit of a beast to say the least

Fantastic car Steve, congrats. And I think the plate looks great, both in terms of placement and character spacing. Don't let George rain on your parade. I've heard those V12s are an animal in the wet as it is As per previous thread, may be worth keeping the 'legal' set (V12 VS? - can't quite make out the last character on my phone) in the boot, should Plod take exception. Enjoy!

Steve R7 said: I also got round to fitting some `stone guards` which should help in keeping the rear arches clear of chips etc. Hmm, I could do wih those, front and rear!! Are they an Aston part? Would be very useful with my big fat tyres which destroyed half of the forum's cars in Wales apparently!

The stone guards are an Aston part. Curiously priced individually rather than as a set. Fronts only. They help greatly and are quite unobtrusive.

Yes, they were standard Aston stone guards for the V8 Vantage which I think fitted neatly on to the V12V.Two of the four fixing are existing screw positions and you have to drill two new fixing holes(8mm).

Fit the DB9 too. Dealer mounted mine & found the mounting points had been peppered with rocks over the years & required a bit of tricky fitting.

Shame there are no rears, guess those behind you aren't assumed to be important... Nothing personal I'm sure RobGT

Extremely late on parade! That looks lovely Steve. The Quantum looks great and the carbon louvres sit really well against it. Enjoy

yvr said: Zod said: Any pictures of the stone guards, please? That's a generic picture Aston use and is actually a DB9. The V12V/S sill & lower wing is very different so the DB ones don't fit a Vantage and vica versa Triangle 005 by mikey k V8VR, on Flickr

Zod said: Any pictures of the stone guards, please? The leading edge seems to be the same profile as V8 Vantage so the stone guards fitted ok. Yeti I should ask dealer about DB9 guards as I think they will be different from mine but no more obtrusive.

I've just bought some V8V stoneguards off ebay, but without fixings. Please could you let me have an idea of what the fixings look like. Thanks

Thanks All the mounting hardware that you need is reused from the ones that are already on the car except for one screw (per side) which you will have to replace with a longer version.

NigelStn said: I bought the stone guards without hardware , but the price was good I think you may be missing my point. The stone guards do not come with any mounting hardware, even if you buy them from the dealer. The mounting hardware is the already on your car because it uses the same fasteners that are used to hold the wheel well liners and the leading edge of the sills in place. You remove them from your car, mount the stone guards and put the same hardware back on to hold them in place. One screw is a bit too short to go through the guard and the wheel liner and will need to be replaced with a longer one. AM will sell you that screw separately, but a trip to the hardware store will get you what you need.

As you rightly say the kit uses SOME existing points and does require a longer screw but does require a plastic inset/ plasnut fitting (supplied with my kit at least) to be put into the inner arch liner AFTER you have drilled the hole in a suitable position.
