This is all a little odd really. Some of us are scared to post pics of our cars showing their plates yet happily advertise where we are all meeting next. Such as the pub before Bamford Rose. Surely the determined criminal would simply turn up at said venue and jot down everything he needed scratchchinyes

I totally agree. It's not rocket science. rolleyes

The issue is that when I drive my car I don't go around shouting things out of the window, thereby incurring the ire of other people. Whenever I post on a forum, unless my post is banal in the extreme (and even then) it is much easier to garner a wrathful response. Said wrathful forumite can then track where I live via my plate.

Well driving along a road is a slightly different proposition to professional thieves scanning Internet forums to get intelligence.

My sole point is why provide a potential audience of millions with information that can quite easily be used to gather more personal information that you may not want known. For the sake of blanking out the number plate.

I may stop driving my car in this case, it's clearly fraugt with danger. Only the other day someone may have looked at it and he was wearing a hooded jumper.

Perhaps I shouldn't go back to my house, then no-one will know where I live and I can't be vandalised or cyber-bullied or whatever the Daily Mail says Jonny Foreigner will do to me.

Cover your plate of you feel the need, if not, don't. Choice cool

I have often posted pics of my cars online and never felt the need to blank any of them until I decided to google one of my plates and turned it up on a website of 'interesting number plates' with a pic of my old S4 and the headline with my name and general area I live in. Since then i've been slightly more concerned about pics with my plates showing but I do realise there's little I can do about people finding out about my cars and subsequently me.

Oh and whilst I'm bored by the pool. From a theft point of view has it not occurred to all why the Admiral premiums for our P&J's is not that different to what most are paying for their euro box. teacher

Nice. I'm listening to the rain whilst supping a particularly fruity pinotage. I think I know where I'd rather be cool
